Game Day Dockers vs. Hawks Round 3, 2014

People are panicking too much. We got beat by the reigning Premiers. The season is only 3 games long so far. Got outplayed no doubt but the ball always seemed to bounce their way and I guess Pav is allowed to have guys climbing on him all game. We will bounce back

From what I saw no part of Walters hit the guy's head. His bump caused the guy's shoulder to be forced up into his own chin. Please tell me the rule doesn't extend to this??

To be honest what Walters did was worse than fyfe. That said it would be stupid if anything came of his bump

Just shows how ridiculous the fyfe suspension was

If you're referring to the late spoil attempt in the first half on Spangher then that was Hannath not sandi.. Mayne was an legitimate attempt at a tackle, nothing in it. Walters. I dunno. Could be anything, but he's injured anyway..

Yeah, definitely Hannath.

Looked very similar, almost identical, to Walker's in Rnd 1 and he got off - which means Hannath will get 4 weeks by my reckoning.

Agree wholeheartedly, but I think both Mayne and Walters will get weeks, plus Sandi will get a week, if only to try to show that Fyfe's ban was OK...

Walters and possibly Mayne. BTW, Ibbo's injury was complete dislocation = quite a few weeks.
Ibbo will be doing well to be back before round 15. If the post game medico report is accurate, Walters will miss 4 weeks at least, and Mayne at least three.
All joyous really...

Could you please elaborate?
Walters re-injured his ankle and came off. Mayne did an ankle, came back on but looked very sore. As far as suspensions go, the only one that I saw that might be sighted is Hannath who copped Spangher high when trying to spoil.

Yes but wasn't that really Sandi in disguise?? According to Brucey, Den, Wayneo, Tommo Harley, Leigho Matthews, Brian Taylor, Richo, Vossy, Kingy and Wayney "gonna find your team-mates wifey" Carey - it was Sandi and he was goner for at least five weeks??

You know, the way this reportage is going, if I was Jack Mammath I'd be getting an anti-stalking order against Sandi...

Your having ago at my mate Vic and he will tell ya he Is a very happy Man of 83 years young and wouldn't miss it for the world cause when you get to his age there's not much else to do .

Fair play, I think my retirement might include at least some of that. But I need my cycling cricket coffee and booze too.

I've got a suspicion their list may have a couple more guns than ours, across the entire list they may be a coupla % up.They've currently got the wood on us.As a player I'd be making sure things changed and I think we've got the cattle to do that.We were junior brother amateur tonight.Doubt it'll happen again to that extent.Good wake-up for our mob. When you aspire to be the best it includes every single piece of time.We didn't do it today.
The Hawks help make us better;next thing is to be best.
They were brilliant for most of the 1st Q and we were brilliant very rarely for the game.

Before you all go too far there are some lessons to be learnt here .

Hannath is not the quality forward RTD thought he was but he is trying his heart out.
Mundy with only 8 touches in the first half needs help .
Suban , Neale and Sheridan are not the cavalry to save him .
An under done Clarke is a long way ahead of Hannath .
Silvagni should have played as I suggested he could have gone into the midfield or up front to help Pavlich or replaced Ibbotson when subbed .
Clancee the same but HBF and midfield .

At this stage of the game I would protect our quality players and throw the young guns into the fray .
Sandi at FF, Pav FP, Walters HFF , Johnson on a wing Mcpharlin to the bench and the other FP Mundy HFF
Hannath to ruck for the rest of the game with Crozier , Suban ,Sheridan and Pearce in the midfield .

Steven Hill , Sandi, Pearce and Johnson are the only players worth a vote IMHO
Ballas is trying as is Mayne .

Hawthorns skills and running have blown away any allusions we might have had that we are their equal .
Their ability to get numbers to the contest and then spread is amazing .

This has been a hard game to watch but now we know how high the bar has been lifted.
...........o_O

F*ck all will happen there.

Was saying all week we need to stop Smith, Birchall and Suckling. Smith 30d 3.1, Birchall 29d 1.1, Suckling 30d 1.1. That's two defenders that kicked goals and a midfielder that kicked 3 goals. Playing group was horrendous but the coaching group was just as bad. Birchall dominates us every game, got 3 votes against us last year yet we let him dominate again, that's poor coaching.

Next 6 weeks determines if we will finish top 4. Massive games coming up against teams who are in form (except nm). I'm seriously worried about next weeks game, Haven't beaten Essendon for a while. Goddard/Watson/Stanton/Heppell/Zaharakis/Myers against our midfield tonight, maybe add Sylvia, geez we're gonna get destroyed in the midfield again.

I know you have me on ignore, which pleases me greatly, but we don't really have a good match-up for Birchall at all. Not many teams do, if any.

Smith finally played for 4 quarters and Suckling got loose due to our undermanned team.

Shit happens, but enjoy your glorious revisionism and coach bagging.

Na we got this

Yeah again, not to ignore the midfield factor, I think we just had a really big reality check of how important Dawson is to Ross Lyon's defensive structure.

Please name for me another time we got scored against like this with Dawson in the game.

I agree he could not have been the sole difference. But the flow-on effect of him missing is the reason for the offensive pasting
we endured.
