A great win today and an excellent start to the season but it'll get harder from here. Adelaide playing very ordinary football at present, a good win against the Bombers and well done to beat the Cats today - although they were ripe to be beaten with big outs, the game they had last week and the long trip west.

Keep a lid on it guys, would love to see the Dockers in the finals but they aren't played in April!!!

One of the very few teams I can actually stand having some success. They really deserve it after all this time.

Happy for them tonight, despite the players that Geelong were missing. Can't see them winning next week but they'll still have a pretty good year...

Certainties hey? Lets keep a lid on it, for one this is Freo and secondly its only round 3.

They have started well though, but no where near top 4 locks just yet.

Who are the top four locks? St Kilda (depending on how long Riewoldt misses), Geelong and Footscray.

Without wanting to sound like a turncoat, I've tipped them all three rounds so far. I'd watched the first 2 rounds and now after today they've been the most impressive team I've seen so far this season.

There's a thread here somewhere about a team that misses the 8 makes the top 4 the next year. This year it's Freo.

I think we'll get a touch up next week against Saints, although hope I'm wrong.

After that we have Richmond and West Coast.

I expected to be 0 and 4 so 3 and 0 is a dream.

This is big footy, remember? I've been shot number of times here just because I follow Freo. Apparently I'm not allowed to have an opinion about trading, drafting, winning, finals, premierships...etc. But you're right, I shouldn't have posted that last sentence. It was more of a counter-attack style reply because reading between the lines I could detect a little bit of bitterness. Now, has it got to do with last weeks game, I don't know. But I may be wrong, in that case, my sincere apologies.
Btw, I still don't think we could lose next 10 games easily.

Won their first 3 for the first time, and quality opponents at that in Adelaide, Essendon (away) and now Geelong. Amazing to think they sit 2nd on the ladder at the end of round 3, who would have tipped that at the beginning of the season? And the quality of footy they have been playing is simply awesome to watch.

Sorry mate but after today at the G, Adelaide don't qualify as quality opponents anymore.

Top 4? Perhaps a bit undermining but the greatest win in their history.

Maybe the best win you've seen, but we've had better. (J-Lo kicking the winning goal against you guys comes to mind, plus derby wins)

Would be in the top 10 for me though.

As far as our season goes, I still think our away games will be our downfall and we'll be looking at a lower 8 finish.

I think you'll find even a lot of Eagles fans dont hate the Dockers. Well I dont anyway. Its mainly a number of select supporters more than anything.
Its been 15 years. They are due for some success.

I don't think most WCE supporters hate Freo beyond the rivalry that you would expect.

They arent going to be meeting us in the Finals in 2010 so i'll back them against any other club. There list balance is so much better than ours.

What is stupid is that Fremantle have allot of improvement left in there side

I would never have guessed them being 3-0. I didn't expect them to win today but it wasn't a shock at all that they did. I think it is way to early to say they will be top 4. If they can be within a goal or 2 of the Saints next week then i will say they are genuine top 4 contenders.

I honestly hope they do. It is about time their supporters get the taste of some real success.

Freo are self-evidently a good side this year, where ever they play. Why do you automatically assume they will perform badly away from home this year? Because they did in previous years? Of course they did, they were shit then.

Sorry mate, but I only rate one side as quality, and it aint Adelaide, and it aint the bombers.

We beat a depleted Geelong outfit today, but you can only beat what's put in front of you.

Geelong are still the best side in the comp by some margin.

Having said that I think we could push top 4 if we maintain the consistency we have shown.

The most impressive aspect of todays game for me was the fact that Geelong got away from us twice, and we reeled them in twice, then we went past them.

Old Freo would have rolled over.

Stephen Hill is a genuine gun of the competition, already.

Worried that Suban is a bigger blow than most think, leadership, footskills and grunt.

Time for Palmer to come back in.

I'm still waiting for Hawks, Sydney, Bulldogs, Saints and Brisbane if the Dockers win or look like winning those games, then I will say top 4 but until then I think just making the 8 is in order.
