The commentators were froffing the excellence of Wingard, Gray, Westhoff and Dixon....and yet they still lost.

Where were our excellent players?
I know. It's amazing why commentators go for the home team on interstate games when surely the majority of viewers are from the away side. Go figure. But ha, they look like dickheads now.

Westhoff and Dixon were terrible. No influence whatsoever, except for Dixon's 2 cheapies.
Yep when ricciuto said Dixon had had a big day I literally yelled at my screen, if that was boyd who played that game they'd say he'd done nothing.

YOU BEAUTY!

Things weren't going our way, we just didn't play well in the second and third but we were able to stick around and stay in the contest (Port butchering some shots on goal which helped).

Last quarter was brilliant. Stringer move into the midfield was a master stroke and the boys really lifted. Could be a very important 4 points.

I'm trying to think of the word to describe that win and all I can think of its... gutsy.

As somebody said before we would have done EJ proud with that win. His famous quote "you've got to show me the all the guts and determination that you have in your body" held true for the boys here.

As I said in the game day thread history might look on this win as a mere three point win, but it's a lot more than that. It's a culture building, club building win. Injuries, fan hostility and umpiring were all against us and we gutsed out a win. That 2nd quarter defending when they dominated but only bicked 2 goals to 1 was gutsy.

9-3 lads. We're perfectly poised for a top 4 crack and another go at the holy grail. Enjoy the win, enjoy the week.

GO BULLDOGS!

Massive win.

But stop complaining about the umpiring. Sound exactly like the Adelaide fans...

Stones and glass houses.
We can say what we like. We winners

Everybody's going to focus on Boak's miss but how about Dunkley's unpressured snap 25m out directly in front? Both are as likely to go in as each other I'd say.

The Adelaide game that was blown up in the media with regards to the umpiring was 27 to 12 in the dogs way, today 23 to 10 in ports way!

That means 2.33 free kicks for dogs per 1 for Adelaide in round 7

And 2.30 free kicks for the power per for the dogs today...

Only 0.03 difference

I wonder if all of the flogs from other teams ie norf tools and media outlets will cry about this one?

Umpiring was shocking but gee wiz some of the boys stood tall through immense pressure, wingard, wines and Neade are guns!

Just not as good as our stars Daniel and Biggs in particular were prolific

This and our win in Sydney last year are what builds a team to be able to win finals!!!

Ripping win.
Worked so hard to hang in there and then to get back in front. Twice.
Caleb Daniel had a few unbelievable passages of play in the last. Such a cool head.
Redpath was very very good again. Pretty much defining how a player can grab their opportunity at the moment. Well done big fella.
I thought he may have just been a 'hulk smash' kind of forward, but he is much more than that.

Commentators sounded disappointed at the end when we won and Port didn't pinch it. Eat shit.
