How many times is this question going to be asked....

1) Yes, there are some licences but they are not released yet and almost certainly not international teams
2) Go look up Cricket Academy and you will see that you can already create, edit, download and share any team and player you want. All international and domestic teams, including IPL and Big Bash, have already been created by the community.

CBF going through all the pages buddy but thanks all the same. So Aussie and England most likely and the rest made up players.

No, that's the official Ashes 2013 game which has been delayed continuously and may never release. In that game you can't edit the Australian and English teams though, so they will become out of date very quickly.

Really? Have you seen the screenshots and all the information regarding the game? It looks amazing!

I did speak in haste a little. At first I was like - 'thats a really big call'. Feels strange having Bradman on the cover of a game...a coffee table book or piece of art yes, but a game???

And then this:

This is shit, hate cricket with a passion, but this game looks just soooo good. Might have to purchase just to put money into Big Ant Studios pockets.

I havent played a cricket game in 15 years, but maybe can shed some light on my main issue with cricket games (Im sure some cricket game LORD will tell me to read thbrough the previous 6 thousand posts because its already been answered but Ill try anyway).

Basically every game became a hyper big bash. It was very easy to score 800 in a 50 over innings.

I know that if a game became purely realistic it would sell about 3 copies, but does anyone know how the developers are handling this issue?

Pretty sure in this you can play tests with time reduced eg: 20 overs in a day, and corrsponding fatigue simulation.

The main thing they have for what your talking about is the career mode. You create yourself and play as yourself. So if your a batsman, you bat as yourself, and when you get out the rest of the game is simulated. If your a bowler, you bowl whenver your captain puts you on. If you are granted captaincy then you can control everything. You work yourself up from youth to second team to sheffield shield all the way to tests. (5 levels apparently). And its apparently going to be very realisitic. And it wont take a literal lifetime to get thorugh a series or season, like every other cricket game ever made.

Still, I'll believe it when I see it. Had too many disappointments with terrible cricket games to be optimistic.

There is a big difference with the Ashes licence, as Trickstar acquired that before making the game. In the end, the game is rubbish.

Big Ant had already been close to finishing the game when they presented it to the Bradman Foundation so for them there was no risk. They could tell if the game were good or not because it was essentially finished, and if they think so then that's a huge compliment.

Make no mistake, this is the biggest endorsement any sporting game could ever get. Sachin Tendulkar may be the biggest present name, but he'll endorse almost anything. For Bradman, however, it is actually a crime to use his name and image without permission.

Fair point

They did (as Miqar alluded to) something that has been in all other sporting games: they've got an option for scaling things down.

In FIFA you play a 90 minute match in about 15 minutes. Everything is less except the number of goals, because goals are relatively easier to score in real life.

In this game you can play full 90 over day tests but you can also play 5 day test matches where the sessions have 10 overs each, not 30. The scoring rates will be increased, just like they are in all other sports games.

Or, if you just want short but realistic games, there are one dayers and 2020. A lot of the time taken in cricket is between balls, but you can easily fast forward that here.

can I play on uncovered pitches?

You can change all of the rules back to the time (bouncer limits, 2 behind leg, no helmets or DRS etc) so maybe you could also have poorer pitches? Not sure. Good idea though!
