hi DPS love the effort. who would you have as our first pick (likely 2) out of SPS, McGluggage and brodie if all were still available? reasons?

no declan watson? some PDs have him a fair bit higher than 50.

I rate McCluggage the best of those 3 but feel a player like SPS or even McGrath would be better suited. You have been targeting inside midfielders lately so some speedy line breaking players could be what you look for.

Have Declan Watson lower purely because ive liked what ive seen from the top 50 more than Watson. Was in and out of the Allies team and although he did some promising things I still have him being a 3rd rounder at best. Allison I rate higher and he is looking to go somewhere in the 2nd round.

I'm not OP but here's my two cents:

Lions could use some outside class, and a utility like SPS is the perfect selection if available (and he should be); capable of playing forward, midfield and back and classy af. I think I read somewhere on here that he is a Lions supporter also, so that could limit flight risk (I could be mistaken, however)

thanks for the insights DPS and adam9. with the way we have been going the last few years the draft and FA/trade speculation is one of the highlights of the year for us lions supporters, gives us some hope. strongly agree that we need outside class/x factor type player. i would be rapt with either of SPS, McGluggage or McGrath. maybe 2 of them if we get a PP:).

With your second pick I'd have a hard look at Jy Simpkin, awesome pace and foot skills and if he didn't get injured for the year would be talked up as a top 10 player I have no doubts about that.

why do you rate waterman so highely?
He had an average champs and looks to be too small to be a true kpf at AFL level.

Disagree that he had a poor champs, one game against the Allies he beat Macreadie both up the ground and close to goal. He is a tough match up, he is strong with decent power of the lead with great hands and isn't confined to playing in the 50, a good user and works up the ground well and puts on decent forward pressure.

Just have to look at Membrey to see how a player like Waterman can be effective at AFL level and I also rate him higher than I ever rated Membrey.

Have watched waterman last 2 years IF drafted it will be late , really hard to see him offering much at AFL level . Average 18s , awful in first we're Was had big win over Country . Not just absmyl kicking for goal but attitude and more so as captain was so so.

SPP too high mid 20s
Rotham up a few
Quentin Narkle I would take well in front of Waterman , ability and attitude

"beat McCreadie close to goal" if you have match saved view again . Did nothing aside from out arms up and mark , no body even needed. It was delivered to him on a plater after one of match highlights a long run and kick from SPP.
Did kick goal from all of 5 yards out

Where I rank Waterman doesn't mean he will be drafted in that range,no way Bunker goes around 20 although I have him rated there. I think he would offer quite a bit at AFL level so we will wait and see. SPPs issues are some that could be ironed out but his power and speed rival Venables which most people rate top 10. Rotham wouldn't be far behind my top 12 like I've said in my post there isn't much between him and SPP and could swap there position on the list easily. I like Narkle but feel Waterman would offer more but that's just my opinion.

I'll admit I can't say much for his local Colts games since it's impossible for me to watch them but his numbers stack up pretty well and just like how he has played in the games I've seen. I've watched over every champ game available to me more than twice and plan to watch over the same games again closer to the draft.

Interesting that you have setterfield and macreadie so late in the order. I thought they were both supposed to be top 5 prospects along with perryman and mutch/sproule in the first round

I don't mind Setterfield but really haven't seen enough of him and other players have really impressed to go ahead but that could change later in the year. Sproule is a tough one since I really rate him but suprised to see him so low myself. Guess I'm unsure on how much I truely do rate him. Hasn't been far behind Marshall to be honest.

Colts game stats are what they are but very big step up to State , league footy and huge to AFL . Plenty of cheap ball to be won at colts , plenty of give and get double ups

No you are in fact correct. There has been several rumours floating around that SPS is a Lions fan and some Eagles fans refuted this and claimed that he was actually an Eagles fan but Callum Twomey confirmed that he is a Lions fan on his latest podcast. He idolised Simon Black growing up.

Wouldn't be a bad option for you guys aswell, very classy with high production.

Another perfect option in terms of draft range and support for your club just like schache was last year

Be. I heard a rumour that eagles might not match a bid if it were to come in the second round.

Love it mate! Any reason you have Guelfi so low? I personally think he could be a bit of a steal late in the draft

I actually have a bunch of players in the 40-60 range that are hard to pick from. There are some better mids than Guelfi that should go in the second round. See his draft range being 30-60
