The hall of mirrors that AI is/will produce make investigations much more difficult as well as acurate reporting.
That the justice system is also lagging behind in enacting laws that keep up with the changes in AI tech is also at issue.

Just caught a live US abc news report (online) that claimed that Butler Police Department turned down a request for a Police "Cruiser" vehicle to be stationed next to the building that Crooks is alleged to have climbed and shot at Trump from. Turned it down because of a lack of resources.

Unverified claims/speculation that Crooks pre-positioned his AR15 in the vicinity of the Rally venue.
How could that be if he only borrowed the gun from his father the morning of the shooting?

Can his father's assertion on when his son "borrowed" the gun, be verified as the whole truth and nothing but the truth?
Or might Crooks have borrowed or stolen it earlier that this, possibly before July 8?

Someones other than Crooks must have tried to assist get Trump assassinated the other day, and they miserably failed (Thank God!).
Whoever it was must have either been shadowing Crooks, assisting Crooks, or he was a Patsy and their was at least one other shooter firing one or more of the shots at the event/Trump that were aimed into the venue (and not at Crooks).

Just to be clear, I am not suggesting that Trump staged this to benefit Trump or that they just tried to slightly injure Trump. This would have been an assassination to actually kill Trump and make sure someone other than Trump was President and Trumps VP pick.

I think a lot of culture warriors living in Australia are terrified at the policies Trump may enact on the other side of the world. The bullet dodged or not, Trump got a little bump in electoral polling which resulted in people/posters dismissing whether Trump was actually hit by the bullet, many of those were flippant about the innocent people who died in the ranches. Some went as far as treating it as an ironic joke on the day when the body of the firefighter who was killed was still warm.

What I find interesting is that the shooter researched a mass shooter in Michigan. He also researched a Democrats convention. Seems to me he was aiming for glory and infamy on the way out.

Just to clarify the official position on the possibility of a 2nd shooter.
The below CBS article is a good summary of this.

And from what I've seen so far, I'd assume that if there was anyone on the water tower, due to it being so exposed, the only person up there would be someone heavily armed who was meant to be scouting the area, and that the water tower had surveillance cameras on it to wide pan high quality video surveillance the whole event from high up.

There were/are multiple event videos on X from eyewitness's at the event claiming on X that there were shots coming from the water tower or that someone on the water tower was shot dead.

However, the most intriguing thing about that tower, is how the media has largely not questioned why/if that water tower was manned or had high quality video surveillance high up on it for specifically filming and security monitoring the event in real time. As though something happening on that tower that the media does not want to/ or has been instructed/advised to not report on, so they have decided to largely not even mention that this water tower exists.

Maybe there was a designated SS/Police person on that tower actually trying to protect Trump and the whole event, and they were killed during the gunfire, by someone?

It will be interesting to see if the water tower is mentioned again by the media in terms of why it was un-manned and not used for video surveillance, during the official inquiries into the shooting when this would surely be one of the many security lapse issues.

The conspiracy was one of several that gained traction online in the aftermath of the attack, as people filled an information vacuum with unfounded claims and speculation. Secret Service agents shot and killed the shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, almost immediately after he fired at Trump shortly after 6 p.m. on Saturday.

There is no evidence of a second shooter. Reports from local law enforcement, the U.S. Secret Service, journalists at the event, eye witnesses and hundreds of hours of social media video show there was one gunman at the event, who was located on a roof close to the tower.

However, the claim spread almost immediately after the shooting, with users sharing blurred videos to falsely claim it showed a figure on the tower.

He wouldve had no hope at a democrat convention. There are only a handful of people to watch at those and they would be given the best security available.
