Let's not forget how we all melted in 2016 when we traded 9, 19 and 49 to Sydney for 14, 17 and 31. HUGE melts here when that went down.

This deal got us SPP and Todd Marshall, our last two first round picks. Despite all the George Costanza memes, I have faith in Geoff Parker and Chris Davies, they haven't really let us down in the last few years

I dont remember their being a huge melt and confusion about this deal.

This deal as a stand alone doesn't make any sense. That's why I said if there is a side deal with another club like Hawthorn had in 2005 with North for Hay and we were indirectly involved then that's ok. 2016 the picks swapped made some sense on face value even if you didnt like them. This one on face value makes no sense to basically give away 3 picks for 1. Freo 2019 Rd3 and this years pick 49 cancel each other out so its really 3 for 1 not 4 for 2.

You guys seem to be going all in to get very early picks at the top of the draft this year, even if it means possibly paying overs along the way.

Would have thought it would be easier (and cheaper) to let Gold Coast/Brisbane draft the SA kids at the top of the draft and keep your focus on getting them back to SA after 2 years or so.
