Whats his marking / forward play like?
Better goal kicker than Ebert has ever been. He's a natural around goals.

Whats his marking / forward play like?
Having my first look at the draft board. Don't like Knightmare's negative points for Hately:
Weaknesses:
Decision-making under pressure
Prone to rushing disposals and not lowering his eyes
Lacks hurt-factor
Acceleration
Sounds like everything we don't need in a top pick.
Yep, would be happy to take him with a pick in the 20'sI was impressed by Luke Foley in the WAFL Colts grandfinal. He’s a tall midfield/wingman with pretty good skills and clearly an outstanding runner. What I really like was that he took a few strong contested marks. It’s such a weapon having players who can do that between the 50m arcs.
Carlton and Gold Coast seem to have got access to two state league players each rather than a priority pick. Seems fairish.
What a ridiculous rule. How will this help them at all?
What they should do away with is compensation for free agency. Make Gold Coast, etc, force trades so they still get a good pick and maybe an experienced AFL player whilst the club getting the free agent gets their player but suffers a tad too.
If this rule was in place prior to the last draft then Tim Kelly (pick 24) Liam Ryan (pick 26) and Bailey Fritsch (pick 31) were available. It has the potential to immediately improve them rather than wait on the development of a young kid. I can see what the AFL is trying to do but I wouldn't have let them trade that player for a pick as that defeats the purpose. What a ridiculous rule. How will this help them at all?

Nah I like it. Won't be a huge boon for them - neither should it be. It's just a decent step in the right direction. PPs obviously don't help, but getting in some mature agers who are desperate for a crack at AFL level could make a decent impact in supporting the young high draft picks at the club without having any real effect on the draft integrity. What a ridiculous rule. By the sound of what Wallace was saying Carlton can pick up a player from a state league and trade them this year. Much better idea than just giving them straight up picks. The other clubs can still get their hands on them if they’re willing to give up a 2nd or 3rd round pick.Carlton and Gold Coast seem to have got access to two state league players each rather than a priority pick. Saints massive fans of Max Kinghttps://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/af...e/news-story/50aa9995716b2deb3cc588af146fcce2
Let’s assume this happened and we had pick 5. Would we be doing this hoping rankine or rozee are there?
I’m saying that if we had this
1 - Walsh - Carlton
2/3 - Luko and Rankine or rozee - Suns
4 - saints will take rankine but maybe not rozee (depending on what suns do) .. maybe bailey smith
5 - rankine rozeee if one is there. If not, who will we take ?? Prob smith if he falls to 5

i was going to post this....
What interests me is, "Ports two seconds likely to come in to play" I wonder what exactly we will likely be getting for those picks Freo's 5 perhaps ? Thats then 9,10,21,27 for 4 and 5.
Leaves Freo trading Neale and 5 for 9,10,21 and 27 and presumably 9 and 21 for Hogan. Which would be Neale and 5 for Hogan, 10 and 27.
I’m not massive on that idea unless we’re getting another pick in the 20s back as well... prefer the thought of two top ten picks to one top 5. Although, if we did this and the player we’re after (presumably Rankine) is gone, we could potentially live trade pick 4? Is that how it works?https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/af...e/news-story/50aa9995716b2deb3cc588af146fcce2

yep same here we would need a second coming from somewhere then maybe you'd do itWe need more than a couple of potential stars coming in, so trading almost our entire trade lot for a couple of high picks scares me a bit. We need a lot of young talent coming through.
