I remember a few posters being keen on Jordan Butts (s******) last year as one of the youngest players in the draft.

Anyone know if he's heen playing this year and whether he has taken any strides in his development?

Same question could also apply to Krueger.

Bowman is interesting. Very handy junior ruckman, in fact probably as good a tap ruckman as you get at that level, but I doubt he’ll ever be big enough to offer more than a chop out at AFL level.

Has anyone seen him play key position for an extended period? Might be an option to develop as a key defender long term. His foot skills are great.

According to knightmare Jordan has been going well. Taking lots of marks in defense.

Butts is played some up forward for Murray this year as well. Slow start but has really got going now.

I can’t think of any other talls who might be available mid to late draft

James Blanck, Aaron Clarke, Hudson Garoni, Will Kelly, Dirk Koenan should be available late

Charlie Camerons brother Jarrod looked great for mine 5 goals in ordinary conditions. With a significant upside possibly? Was pretty much the last player picked. They are working on getting getting him focused.

He's going to be a back end pick. We could do worse.

Eagles next gen academy player, so they can match bids for him.
Is he a flight risk like Charlie?

It was staggering that he didn’t initially make the state squad. There must be some non-football factors at play because he has a leg like Nathan Krakouer.

Boundaries have been redrawn again. After Port were excluded from the juniors, Glenelg inherited a fair chunk of the Henley zone. But boundaries have been redrawn this year and pretty sure anything east of Cudmore is now Westies zone. West of Cudmore is Glenelg. Something like that.

Many kids end up going to Henley purely due to their football program. EG..Jarred Polec -transferred from St Micks to Henley year 11 I think. From memory Rhys Stanley also transferred to Henley altho a few years earlier, 08 I think. Jackson and Luke Edwards transferred from Immanuel to Henley a few years ago.
If you were to have a look at the Henley High kids, you'd pretty much have half the state junior teams attending.

Nah polly was there from year 8, he finished in 2010. I finished there in 2009 same year as Brodie smith, Sam gray and Rhys Stanley. Gray and Stanley were both from down the coast and came to Henley in year 11 for footy. Our first 18 in 2009 included Polec, Smith, Lycett, helbig (Richmond), Stanley, Byron sumner (swans). As well as Matt rose, josh Schiller and a few other blokes playing sanfl at the moment. Was a fun side to run around in, didn't have to do much myself haha

Polly was definitely a St Mix boy. He definitely transferred to Henley for the footy program they run. I cant remember which year exactly he transferred but I was fairly sure it was year 10. I could be mistaken on which year it was.

The Henley program is still running strong. It has a heap of talent running thru there now (Luko, Rankine, Edwards...so on). Would be fun running around with their current crop as well.

Lol at my school we had a box of guernseys.

We only found out they were Hawthorn guernseys when the school entered a lightning carnival when I was in Year 12.

Do all schools have footy teams in SA?

I’m quite sure mine didn’t, and we had like 500+ kids at the school lol. We wouldn’t even had a box to put guernseys in if someone gave us guernseys

Three of Carlton's next four games are St Kilda, Suns and Lions. If they could win two of those they get above St Kilda on 2 and a half wins and improve our second round pick. Unless St Kilda beat Carlton I can't see them winning another game this season. Trouble is I don't see them dropping any further as I also don't see Brisbane winning another game this season.

I just posted similar in the general AFL thread based on the results from an attempt at the ladder predictor.

Brisbane would start favourites against Gold Coast if the game were tomorrow so there is one win. We just need them to pinch one more, most likely against Carlton and St Kilda will win the spoon.

Maybe but I've tipped Brisbane 3 times this year and been burnt every time. And Gold Coast did alright for the last half of the game yesterday.

There's a nice vid of Sydney Stack on the draft board. Very fast, tricks, tackler and wins clearances at speed. I read he missed the first game of the champs for disciplinary reasons. Does anyone know much about him? Maybe he will go lower than his talent?

From the allies game:

#3 Boyd Woodcock

Serial ball winner Woodcock played his first game of the carnival and provided an extra outlet through the midfield and half-forward. His tackling pressure was great throughout the game, and he also kicked a top goal from outside 50 to cap off a decent game.

#10 Martin Frederick

The Port Adelaide Next Generation Academy player played his best game for the carnival as he was a crucial element to South Australia’s run and carry from defence. His disposal is left to be desired at times but two inside 50s and three rebounds highlighted his influence. Frederick showed off his dashing run and “sold candy” as he kicked a superb goal on the run from a difficult angle.

#13 Connor Rozee

Rozee had his most influential game of the carnival and was firing from the start as he kicked the first goal of the game. His kicking was a joy to behold throughout the match, later on Rozee was hurt from a pack mark attempt but played out the game with no problems.

#14 Izak Rankine

Rankine kicked three goals as he lit up at the GMHBA Stadium with his daring dash and explosiveness. He started through the midfield and found plenty of the ball in the early stoppages and finished with 20 disposals a carnival high for Rankine. Kicked two outstanding goals to lift his side and provided plenty with score involvements across the game.

#16 Tom Lewis

An unsung leader of the team Lewis was highly influential for his side again across the stoppages. Lewis provided a game high 11 tackles and three clearances as he complimented clearance kings Valente and Hately fantastically.

#22 Jacob Kennerley

The winger was again important with his 17 disposals and the link between the arcs. With five inside 50s he helped set up many scoring opportunities.

#25 Tom Sparrow

The inside bull was everywhere and works hard and fast. Sparrow had nine disposals, but also had nine tackles and continues to play well as a defensive mid.

#29 Kai Pudney

The winger had 15 disposals and five marks and provided an outlet on a number of occasions, but probably would have liked to make a bit more of an impact on the game.

#32 Luke Valente

A real leaders’ game and showed the way in the first quarter. Continued to lead all players with game high 28 disposals and worked hard inside the contest. Showed his class and work rate all game despite a quiet second quarter but his six clearances were important. Coming into his own during the National Championships, and his stocks would have risen after this game.

#34 Jackson Hately

Showed in this game what he can do. Down and dirty inside at the contest, and his decision making in traffic was very good and often released others from the contest with handball. Eight tackles and six clearances was reflective of his work rate, and his height and size looks ready-made for the contest. A very good all-round game

#37 Riley Grundy

The tall defender worked into the game after the first quarter. His intercept marks looked to give him confidence and his athleticism was at show for sure. Allies forward Nick Blakey was on top early, but Grundy dug in and certainly kept the Allies key forward quieter in the second half. Bit of polish to finish his work will come with more games

#42 Jack Lukosius

Came out blazing in the first quarter, and his work rate across the ground stood out along with his elite disposal. He played a higher role up the ground, worked into defence and really did it all at both ends. He was rewarded with a goal, and three inside 50s and rebound 50s was reflective of an all-round game. He drifted out of the game along with teammates in the second quarter, but his disposal continues to impress.

#47 Hugo Munn

Settled in the first quarter, and looked really dangerous up forward, slotting one goal and could have had three by quarter time. A quiet second quarter, but then his ruck and around the ground work after half time was good. His decision making was excellent hitting up targets and willingness to compete on the ground stood out. Like his athleticism and ability to run out the game in Ruck and up forward.

missionpossible have you had a chance to see Martin Fredrick live a few times? What are his prospects like? I saw him do that nice bit of play where he dodged a couple and kick a goal against the Allies and thought, that's a handy bit of play for a back pocket player.
