Can protest much as you want unless we are not getting anything off the AFL but if Collingwood ,Melbourne,Carlton or Richmond were in our spot then yes they would get the priority pick just like the past when they laid down and exploited the rules to get them.
This may upset our supporters but do you really think the AFL care about us.

I've maintained that we won't get a priority pick mostly because the AFL was so dismissive with saying the package Scotts gave us is all we would need. They're not exactly fond of admitting they ****ed up.

However if they think they have to help WC, which I personally don't think they do because they have an injury crises which is horrifically obfuscating their quality and haven't had a long stretch of shitness, then I think that either aids us massively or doesn't really affect us.

I simply can't see the AFL giving them a 1st rounder without also being 'forced' into doing the same to us considering we have largely maintained our shitness this year. But if it's a similar package to what we got, starting in the second round, then so be it it's not really a huge deal. I'd still be pissed because of the reasons I gave earlier, but it's not like pick 2 would slide.

That said, considering our luck of recent years then I look forward to being proven wrong and to seeing west coast getting 2 first rounders gifted to them.

The problem is that the AFL is too slow to react, West Coast need help now, we did two years ago. If they make WC wait as long as we did their issues probably resolve themselves which is probably reason enough to scrap the priority picks altogether.
