Operation get Polec at pick 4, I thought GC were picking him before us. Reminds me of a quicker version of trengove tbh.

Kerr, Shuey, Polec... very nice!

Are you serious? If he was a quicker version of Trengove he would be going just behind Swallow in the draft. Other than the fact they both represented SA in the U18's what similarities do you see?

with Pick 4 Gaff /Heppell

pick 26 Dion Prestia small attacking midfielder ,Rodan- Kerr

Pick 28 Jamie Cripps pacy running half back can play mid /fwd
or Warrick Andreoli pacy wing/mid

pick 45 Darcey Barnden strong marking Jonno Brown type

Not sure, hes obviously more outside then trengove (he even compares himself to stephen hill), just the way he moves i think.

Someone else mentioned the similarity on the trading board as well: "In the Trengove build for mine, composed, skilled, could play a variety of roles, and has a bit more toe than Jack too"

Off topic but this is whats posted about him on ports board:

"Matt Rendell the crows recruiting manager predicts Polec to go 4 or 5.
Not surprising really when you watch him live, he is better at his age than Didak was and probably right up there with the best youngsters I've ever seen"

"What I've seen of Polec live is outstanding. He will go top 10 IMO. He is as good as Gibbs, Didak & Cooney were at his age IMO.

I was absolutely shocked when I was watching WWT v Centrals a few weeks back and watching Polec play. I thought wow that guys alright I wonder how old he is, then to find out Polec was 17 I was blown away! His performances were of a 25 year old SANFL star not a 17 year old kid. You wanna see good vision of Polec get the tape from WWT v Central Round 21.

He is simply one of the most outstanding prospects I've seen at SANFL level."

Only query in Polec is his kicking, he's a gun in every other attribute.

Heppell Polec Darling - anyone of those 3 and I'll be happy.

I think that this season we should go for someone with elite skills with our first pick. The team lacks the ability to hit a target by hand or foot in many positions at the moment; so we should be looking to fix that deficiency !

Polec tests very poorly for pace which is unusual given the way he looks on the field but it will be enough to prevent him going at 4 for mine

Does Polec remind anone of Nicoski?
Unsure on pick 4.At this stage Gaff/Heppell.Still would be happy with Polec though.

Whats everyones thoughts about picking a mature age player (ie michael barlow) with pick 28?

I look the looks of issac smith and also myles sewell (brads brother). Any others to add to the watch list?

It is unlikely.

If the player has nominated before, or been on an AFL list then GC can pre-select them.

They have ten pre-selections so will likely nab the top couple and perhaps try to barter with a couple of others to get higher picks or an upgrade.

So unlikely any quality mature agers will be easy pickups and even if GC are willing to trade the rights (like Krakouer) they will def make clubs pay overs.

ahhh ok. damn gold coast get a lot of help don't they- imagine what the eagles team would have looked like if we had half of these concessions

Who cares if he tests badly but is quick on the field?

I would be very concerned if our recruiters talk themselves out of a player or into a player because of athletic testing results - I'd rather they be completely disregarded.

Morabito produced a rather ordinary time at the AIS in 2008 but it didn't affect his draft position at all as a ball carrying midfielder.

I would love to see Polec in WC colours. He would break into the team early on for sure. The way that he runs and the confidence to kick for goal would slot in nicely with the building eagles.

But if WC go for Darling for team balance or consider Heppel/Gaff or another lesser rated player the best investment i'll be happy.

Polec reminds me a lot of a slightly faster nicoski. He does a lot of things really well but im not sold. We'll see though.

I have had my concerns on Polec for a while.

His kicking really hasn't impressed me a'lot, have concerns how it will translate to AFL level.

l also don't think he's as fast as everyone thinks, but does seem to have good agility.

He had a poor game on that day, but his other championships games were good, particularly vs Vic Metro.

Pitt's a good kick - definitely one of his strengths along with his evasive ability and composure/decision making.

If we evaluate Polecs kicking to be of a high enough level he is probably the one we should be going for. Love his ability to find space and burst through traffic.
