From a twitter site I know

Don't be surprised if WC drafts former saint M.Rix as a mature age rookie. They have concerns over Cox's longevity and want NN as a pt fwd half a minute ago via web

It's actually something I had floated a number of times targetting this bloke - has been ripping up the WAFL and would provide a handy back-up - particularly from the rookie list.

My concern being is that we have lynch - so the need for another mature ruckmen is lessened somewhat.

Many clubs have 6 ruckmen - we only have 3 - if we do take Rix on the rookie list - hopefully we look to rookie another ruckman of a much younger age - bringing our total stocks to 5

We've been discussing him a fair bit at the WAFL, myself and some Subi members. He's dropped a lot of the bulk he had at the Saints so is a lot more mobile now. Had a ripping year this year, I like their thinking. The only problem is that GM will come on and say that Worsfold is protecting his job by recruiting mature players!

Dont be surprised if Lynch will be rucking heaps next year.

On of the 2 main ruckmen might probrably go down knowing our luck.

Lynch is good in the ruck - I would have had him ahead of Cox all 2010.

He was dynamic and a real energy provider in 2009 when working together with Natunui late in 2009.
Together they looked unstoppable

2 cult hero type of aura.
ENERGY MAN !!!!!!!!!!

Hope Lynch has gotten over the loss of games played record though, to get his purpose right

If we evaluate Polecs kicking to be of a high enough level he is probably the one we should be going for. Love his ability to find space and burst through traffic.

Not sure what the big issue is with his kicking he is just as good as gaff who is considered a good kick by ppl on this board.

Do our recruiting staff ever look further East than the WAFL competition when considering mature age draft picks?

VFL > SANFL > WAFL

No way Rix is the best mature aged non-listed ruckman in the land

I'am a Tom Derickx from Claremont Fan, wouldn't mind him as a mature age rookie.

At risk of being labelled biased, I'd prefer Luke Adams.

If we think we could push his disposal tally up, he'd be OK backup.

I'd look seriously at Luke Adams from the Swans. He was invited to State Screening but with his ankle dislocation in the Semi, he won't be participating.

From all reports the damage was pretty minimal for a dislocation.

You type too fast...

I had a good chat to his mum at the colts final about it at EF oval.:) Seems a good kid, level headed and has a pretty fair leap and good around the ground.

Anyone interested in Motlop?

Apparently Port have told him to sort it out himself and will be happy to let him go just too free up some space.

If he was available in the PSD he would probably be the best available and IMO is at least as good as Krak.

There's a number of small forward types on the table this year, we should be at least a couple available in the PSD.

Even at that stage I still wouldn't want Motlop though.

There have been a couple of media reports that we're not interested. At his age and given his inconsistency I reckon we're better off taking a punt on a high risk/high reward youngster in PSD.

It just sounds so similar to Brisbane's situation before they took on Fev. A young team with no discipline issues inherit another teams trouble maker.
