Haha .... Tigger supporters desperate for Pick 2 but aren't willing to cough up enough to North

Pick 6 & 11 thanks

I haven’t read all the posts but I’m not to fussed at all. 6 there is going to be a Smilie/Smith etc still available so don’t necessarily see the need to do the trade.

If it was 6 & 11 I’d just prefer to keep the picks

Ah OK, that makes sense now. Would be very interesting if they threw that many picks at a club.

Clubs might be lining up to make us offers for 8.
Port and Essendon are the only two I think capable of jumping into the top 11. They're the ones who could make offers too good to refuse. No one else is really in a position to. And I think Essendon will make a big offer as they have two strong future firsts and they can't use 28 and 31 themselves.

I don't think it matters how many picks they throw out. Richmond won't trade 10 or 11 for a future pick and Saints won't trade 8. They would need to throw out both F1s for them to even think about it.

Also, 28 and 31 will get swallowed up by the Kako bid and they'll need to keep at least one F1 or F2. So, they can trade both F1s or an F1+F2 and then their late picks in the 40s.

Reckon GWS 16 is the earliest pick they could get. Either that or Richmond 18/20.
It depends how large the gaps Richmond perceive between 11 and their later picks. By pick 11, they will have already taken 3 picks and an "I can't believe he was still there" guy.

And the rules are, if they still hold an F1, they can trade all their other future picks if they want

Plus they have enough later picks to match Kako if he gets to about pick 7.

I think the point is they would trade in before the Kako bid. If it hasnt happened by pick 11, they could trade 28, 31 and future picks to try and get the pick off us. Then their later picks are used in the Kako bid.

If North take Tauru at 2 Melbourne, Richmond and St Kilda all get bumped up one spot in the queue as far as picking the midfielder they want at 5,6,7.

I wonder how much that factors into no decent offers coming for pick 2 as of yet. St Kilda and Richmond have been considered suitors for it. Maybe they figure they can box North into taking Tauru early by not giving them a decent trade down option. Melbourne contributing by feigning interest in Tauru at 5.

They probably don't get the player they take if they had 2 but end up with a close alternative without having to pay anything. It's only one spot but could make a big difference in terms of preferred players being available. Could mean a Jagga gets to Richmond at 6 or a Draper to Saints at 7.

Of course, North could call their bluff and pick a mid at 2, so there'd be a fair few mind games going on.

That is true. Yes, possible in that case. That said, I still think both F1s would need to be on the table for Richmond to consider it.

I think Richmond would back themselves to turn a F1, f2 28 and 31 into 2 first rounders comfortably, particularly with f2 becoming the matching picks for top kids next year.

I don’t think so. I think about the best we would get for our F1 would be pick 19 or 20, and for all we know we could finish bottom 4 next year, while North probably wouldn’t get a pick inside 15 for theirs, so I’d say there’s very little chance of a team who could win the flag getting a pick inside 25, for their F1.

Especially with potentially 5 other clubs offering up their F1’s for the same picks.
Hmm, let’s see. Only takes two to create a market, but ultimately there will be a player that they are trading the F1 for and it would be crazy for us or North to be that desperate.

If a bid on Kako hasn't been made by pick 10 then I think it's hands down misère that the Tigers bid at 10.

Then let's see what happens with both of those F1's when pick 11 is on the table.

I think there's a high probability that 28 & 31 will be traded for futures as the night rolls on.
