Hahaha…no. There’s a solid section of Adelaide ‘reporters’ who are heavily Port aligned and spend a good amount of time undermining the Crows.Well I posted last Sunday I was at a corporate function with a number of agents recruiters + cricketers past and present and the word from the football guys was that the blues really liked Jagga (post is there)
So it’s not unexpected that it’s come out this week.
Adelaide being keen enough to trade up is new news. It also came from an SA based reporter - so you would assume carries more weight with regards to legitimacy
And what would “port” reporters gain from saying you want to trade up for 4 to 2 to land Jagga?Hahaha…no. There’s a solid section of Adelaide ‘reporters’ who are heavily Port aligned and spend a good amount of time undermining the Crows.
And while I’m sure your corporate function was a hotbed of legitimate information, Carlton liking Jagga is no surprise. Just like they also like Draper and FOS. Not sure it’s a guarantee that’s who they’ll draft.
I was about to ask who this reporter was but it really doesn't matter. There's a lot of info flying out there this year and most of it is incorrect - either deliberately or otherwise. Maybe Carlton want Jagga - feels like the one of the 4 that they already have covered with their mix but hey. Maybe Adelaide want to give up future draft capital to trade up for a Melbourne kid when an excellent local kid is available. Unlikely but maybe. And what would “port” reporters gain from saying you want to trade up for 4 to 2 to land Jagga?
It has no impact on Port
Matt Turner broke the Adelaide news and co-wrote the story with Chris Cavanagh yesterday around the intentions of the first 6 picks.I was about to ask who this reporter was but it really doesn't matter. Don’t stress..you’ll likely get your wish!As a Saints supporter…
North or Melbourne. Can one of you please get Tauru off the board before pick 7.
Hawthorn future second wouldn’t be enticing to North surely!!Adelaide will get Pick 2.
Hearing its agreed upon. They have got the additional F2 North wanted. Could be the R2 pick West Coast got from Hawthorn.
Jagga isn’t a great kick…would’ve thought Adelaide stay put at #4 & select FOS, Jagga or Draper, whoever slips to themAdelaide lack speed and disposal skill in the midfield, not size. The ball winners are more shovel it out guys. A zippy mid like Jagga who gets it on the inside, moves to the outside and finds a teammate, is exactly what we need. Draper would also be a good fit with his clean hands and speed. With Dawson, and last year's 1sts Curtin and Edwards slated for the midfield - adding Langford would make us very top heavy and cumbersome. Not that our drafting team follow logic and reason with their early picks...

Would’ve thought the idea of sliding back in the draft order is to gain an extra pick in this draft but the supposed obsession with Tauru is maybe clouding their judgmentIt worries me that this could be exactly what we are thinking. Otherwise asking Adelaide for their third f3 would probably be a better deal for us.
Trouble is clubs seem reluctant to trade out of this draftCould be as simple as having 2 f2’s allows a little more flexibility at the trade table.
Ie north could now package f1 and f2 for a pick this year
Disposal efficiency above 80% says otherwise - it’s a remarkable stat considering how much of the ball he gets and the tight spaces he gets it in. Kevin Sheehan knows juniors better then anyone and describes Jagga as ‘elite distribution by hand and foot’.Jagga isn’t a great kick…would’ve thought Adelaide stay put at #4 & select FOS, Jagga or Draper, whoever slips to them

Gold Coast May do that deal Adelaide, as they’ve got 4 academy kids next yearThe interesting question is if the Crows hold firm do North take the 2 F3s anyway?
If North are taking Tauru at 2 or 4 regardless its still something for nothing. Lets not pretend they have anyone else in mind if they are entertaining that trade.
Or maybe the Roos dont like the optics of the trade at such a low price and think thats worth forgoing the 2 F3s? Or maybe they dont want to take the very minimal risk that Melbourne pick swaps with blues to get tauru?
Intersting times. My gut says the crows can find a way to get it done if they want it. But I just dont know who will give them an F2 for 2 F3s.
Lack of kicking penetration is the main knock on Jagga but the kid knocks up getting the pill..Disposal efficiency above 80% says otherwise - it’s a remarkable stat considering how much of the ball he gets and the tight spaces he gets it in. Agree we should stay at 4 though. Whoever we get will be great.
Hope you’re right..live pick swaps do add a bit of spice to draft nightAll signs point to some sort of deal being done imo
We might not see true value for picks but something will get done I think
That doesn’t look like Draper..
I wouldn't have thought so.Hawthorn future second wouldn’t be enticing to North surely!!
Yes he doesn't have a big booming kick. Also not a great pack mark and I hear his ruck work is terrible.Lack of kicking penetration is the main knock on Jagga but the kid knocks up getting the pill..
Got any other goss for us FTB?Langford or FOS for the Dees at pick 5 (6).
Lalor, Ashcroft, Smith, Draper and Tauru will be picked by then.
Except… the latest noise could throw a spanner in that conundrum as the Roos could take FOS at 4 and you’ll take Tauru 5.
Richmond locked in on Smillie at 6
So Bo Allan at 6?Reckon you need to take the reporting on what the Dees and Tigers are keen on with a grain of salt.
Taylor and Hartley have been very quiet over the past two weeks. It’s likely journos have very little idea of who they like here.
