Re: Serious trade talks

Ditto, I think that it could be a win-win for both clubs

It would be more of a win for you guys. We have a lot of 3rd talls (which I think Gunston is more like, not a big power forward, which we do need.)

As has been said, he hasn't signed yet, but I haven't heard any talk of being homesick or him being offered up for trade.

I guess we will see in the next few days though.

Re: Serious trade talks

Hi WB board

Can anyone confirm whether Howard is yet to re-sign and if not is he seeking a trade back to SA?

Howard has resign with the Bulldogs

Re: Serious trade talks

Sam Reid deal will not be happening as the gws don't want to trade for him any more :) which is sort of a good thing because I like sam Reid and we get to keep the comp pick :)

Re: Serious trade talks

No trades outside of giving fringe players like Addison and Reid more opportunities for draft picks, definately should not be bringing in other teams spuds like White, Seaby etc, wil be a very quiet WB trade week

Re: Serious trade talks

I'm hoping for a serious offer from the Hawks for Lake.

If Hawthorn are going to get Gunston, which is assumed, because he has nominated them, they will have to use their first rounder. What else of value do they have? Do you have a player in mind?

Re: Serious trade talks

Sydney: L.Gilbee, D.Addison
Bulldogs:J.White, 2nd round pick(43)

Eagles: j.hill
Bulldogs: 3rd round pick(68)

Gws: S.Reid, callan ward comp pick
Bulldogs: 1st round pick(7 or 9 or 11)

I know this from a creditable source.

Well apparently according to Emma, this isn't happening. . . I'm amazed when i read on here how many sources everyone has, friends of the players, from the horses mouth, and it all ends up being bullshit. Why hasn't anyone ever revealed one of these credible sources....they can't name a name? This Sam reid rubbish for pick 5 or 7 or whatever has been going on for nearly as long as the callan ward crap where every 4 weeks someone else would come on and say "hes definately staying, heard from his best mate, credible source, someone in the know, spoke to him at footy"... name your sources or keep it to yourself

Don't know their list well enough. Do they have a young quick midfielder who currently can't get a game?

Alternatively, what have they done with the Harbrow like pick for Brown?

They traded that for Hale last year, Lake won't and shouldn't be traded anyway given out current KP defender situation

I think they used their Campbell Brown pick on David Hale. Im not sure though.

The only quick, young midfielder they have that would be worth getting is Shane Savage, but I expect him to be in their best 22 next year, and they wont want to get rid of him.

Hm, maybe they can't offer a fair trade. Pity.

Won't matter either way for us - we're in for at least two years of misery.

Shame we can't get something good for a revival after that for Lake.

In the age thus morning, we are supposedly the front runners for pick 2 in the mini draft.
This is the proposed deal:

Gws get: ward compo pick and our 1st round pick(17)

Bulldogs get : pick 2 in mini draft(brad crouch) and 1st round pick 25

Not sure if it is the right thread but we are looking to give Hudson a spot on our list as a Ruckman/Foward to help Leuenberger out or if he is Injured. And we would be trading you a late pick.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/124828/default.aspx
THE BRISBANE Lions have offered retired Western Bulldogs ruckman Ben Hudson a chance to resume his career in 2012, reports The Age.

With injured ruckman Jamie Charman retired and the club about to lose versatile tall Mitch Clark who has requested to leave, No. 1 ruckman Matthew Leuenberger needs help and the experienced Hudson has plenty of appeal.

The Fairfax paper says the 32-year-old "had intended to move home to Queensland and play for Southport on the Gold Coast next year, but the Lions have spoken to him about playing on for one more year".

Although retired, Hudson "remains on the Bulldogs' list and they would trade with the Lions for a late pick - possibly in the 50s - to help the popular ruck continue his AFL career".

^ That is all it says in the article.

I dont know if I like the sound of that or not, well I guess if you put it this way, what pick would Brad Crouch go at next year in the draft?

At the moment? anywhere between 2 and 5, thats including omeara though. you never know who will prosper next yea and rocket up the draft standings though. he could slide, ala jack darling who was touted as a potential top 5 pick also, but it is doubtfull. he is almost a lock for top ten selection next year at least. very promising young talent. quick, excellent kick on both feet, great breakaway speed, can bust through packs and is elite with his in and under work at the stoppages and around the ground and at 184cm, 83kg, is a solid young lad who will keep growing and getting bigger.the only thing he doesnt have that omeara does, is the potential X factor. all in all, he would be well worth the compo pick and our first rounder being downgraded, as we will probably get anoter top 5 pick next year when we finish near te bottom of the ladder. it would be great to have at least two potential superstars from the 2012 draft, and we would have the advantage of crouch being in the elite system for an extra year to everyone else.

would be extatic if we picked up this kid. not much between him and omeara as i stated before :)

Thats great to read!

So essentially we would be lucky to get someone next year as good as him with our compo pick (I dont think we are going to finish as low as everyone thinks we will) and we are just downgrading our pick this year to make sure we get him a year earlier.

Maybe we can add something else and turn the 25 into more of a range to get Talia too, that would be an awesome return!
