I think the Tigers will play it reasonably safe & pick up Polec, Heppell or Lynch.
I'm still on the Heppell train (bad groins & all. Remember Judd has bad shoulders) by recruiting him Lids can move into the midfield.

Heppell to wear #36 for tigers in 2011

Wouldn't be surprised if this is just cat and mouse with us not giving away our main target and trying to get Heppell to our pick. Wasn't there a rumour doing the rounds we have been keen on him for 2 years?

I'd be surprised if we didn't pick him up if he was there at #6 given he's such a good prospect but I guess you never know especially with a more even draft than usual. All this Conca stuff is pure speculation at the moment. We will see what happens.

I think that Heppell tracking for two years was started by Deepthroat and we know his credibility is not very good after trade week.

No way is Conca like Mclean or Cunnington. He is quick and extremely agile with a good leap and quick recovery. The media in the west along with himself believe he is Ryan Griffen like. I think he's a cross between McGlyn and Griffen with kicking skills far better than McGyln's and not as penetrating as Griffen's but he looks accurate off of both feet. I think he would fit into our rotation beautifully and be very effective as a mid, half back or forward flanker. To me he is less exciting than Polec but appears to be much more consistent and reliable.

Now thats a kid willing to do whatever it takes to be a Tiger :D
Oh dear. I meant blew our blokes away.

That could be the case, but if you interview current players & had to draft them on their interviews Daniel Jackson would be selected as the number 1 pick.

We want a gun player not a coach.
I would have thought we would want both. Mature minds and hard workers might just get more out of themselves than outright talent. Who knows.

Lol, priceless. :)

Anyway, Jacko was never considered as a first round draft pick as far as I can remember, went at 53. A first rounder, skill wise, with Jacko's head on his shoulders sounds like a pretty good combination.

How does Judd having bad shoulders relate to Heppell having a bad groin?

Judd slipped in the draft because clubs believed his shoulder problems would be ongoing and debilitating. So I think SAtiger11 is relating that scenario to Heppell's situation if in fact the groin rumors are true.

Same goes for Joel Selwood's knees.

Heppell's groin injury is reportedly the reason why Brissie may pass on him - quite possibly the reason why you guys could do the same. You could argue its more of a risk taking a guy with bad groins at a young age than a healthy player.

Didn't judd have bad shoulders which prevented him going at pick 1? I think there were injury concerns with joel selwood as well which saw him slip.

Hope we land Heppell of all the mids. Gaff no thanks, dont rate him very highly, reminds me of carazzo in that he accumulates cheap ball deep

Agree Gaff is Brent Stanton mark II cannot believe WC are taking him at 4. Alot of cheap ball in the backline and handball recieves from player standing on the mark.

Heppell or Caddy pleaseee....and Luke Parker/Mitch Hallahan or Viv Michie at 30...

say parker, hallahan and horlin-smith are available at 30, who would you guys prefer?

id rather one of these guys over the talls available like mitchell.

my preference would be hallahan, love his hunger and competitiveness, great leader and gives his all.

Paul Daffey's Phantom Draft and Why Polec?

So the Lions are rumoured to have a eye on Polec. Why are we so sure on Polec then and why does pretty much every phantom draft have us picking him? Heppell seems to me to be a class above Polec. If Brisbane take Polec, and we dont swipe at the opportunity of taking Heppell, book mark this because he will be a class above.

I would be very Happy with our first two picks being: Heppell, Hallahan :D rather than Polec, Hallahan

Very happy with Paul Daffy's pick 30 might I add

30. RICHMOND - Mitch Hallahan
Height:
184cm
Weight: 81kg
DOB: 23/08/92
Club: Dandenong Stingrays (Vic)
Draft range: 20-35
Vic Country captain who showed his toughness by playing the entire 2010 season with an injured ankle. Known for boring into packs, Hallahan's reputation for ruggedness is enhanced by his status as a junior boxing champion. The only criticism - and it's minor - is that he's not got one outstanding trait, just a lot of excellent ones.

Re: Paul Daffey's Phantom Draft and Why Polec?

I agree mate! even though i rate Polec Very highly...Heppell will be the perfect player for us! he has been rated for a long time now and could go as high as 4.
if Polec is gone by 6, then we shouldnt even think twice and get dyson Hep.

This would fit so well for us because it will free up Deledio! do people realise this? he could spend another year working on his defensive side and play a mid/defensive role similiarly to Goddard while Heppell steps in and learns to run off the back flank.

Conca will make me vomit at number 6

Does anyone else think Polec looks a bit like Fiora? Disposal although accurate is a bit dinky? Does not seem to be a penertrating kick from the video.

I am not convinced about him, I hope we get it right.
