Until it dries... then it's a pain. Bloody good hair gel though!

What are you doing that makes the bleeding stop. I draw the line when they flat line.

Haha... nothing. I guess they just clot. I must pick targets more wisely next time.

Not a great result, and it's another interesting challenge next week. The furies are coming off a 90 hiding of the warriors, but who cares about that?

Their march thread topped 200 pages!

Obviously we'll need to put in a good showing there, but shit I hope they tone down their spam.

I'm not going through thousands of posts but is it just like a casual chat thread where they just ramble on?

Shoutout to cammo6556, dennis crumpet and Hate who were the top 3 posters in Round 1.

0 posts for AmericanCrow, chefmeister, Event Horizon, Jatz, Moo, Only Forwards and The Half Back this week. We would love to see you around in the coming weeks to bolster our attack.

We had a very good turn out for the start of the season, however not the on-field result we wanted. Don't let it get you down, it's a long season. We play the Fighting Furies next week who lost the plot this week.

Just putting it out there that 2.0.12 is a pretty good return in a forward line that can't hit the side of a barn. Thank **** for iBeng.

Not the best start to our season. Took too long to get out of the blocks and from there we spent the rest of the game playing catch up which proved too difficult in the end. I thought after quarter time we held our own and at times bettered the Roys, especially in the second half when we threatened a comeback.

Some good games by a number of guys this week but hopefully we can start better in next week's fixture. :thumbsu:

SFA season 23 Round 1 Dragons FFC v Roys FFC @ Dragon Island

The Dragons FFC campaign has gotten off to the worst possible start after falling short to a 33 point loss to a convincing Roys FFC outfit at Dragon Island. The Dragons were keen to kickstart their campaign with a win after falling agonisingly short in last seasons campaign. For the Roys, they had a dream start to their campaign, and have shown the competition that they will be a force in season 23 of the SFA.

After going toe to toe with the Roys for much of the 1st period, the Roys managed to kick away in the first quarter, forcing the Dragons to play catch up for much of the game. The only bright spot for the Dragons first period was a double to promising rookie Blaze Storm who has shown the competition that he will take the game by storm (pun may or may not be intended). The Roys taking a 28 point lead into the short break.

After the Roys kicked away with the momentum in the 2nd again, new signing dennis crumpet slotted his first for the Dragons. The Roys weren't to be dented though, as they continued to pile on the goals. VSTone kicked his first for the campaign shortly after, while dennis crumpet kicked his 2nd shortly after, as did another rookie Mooresome. The Roys increasing their lead by 10 at the main break.

Dragons FFC resident FF iBeng kicking his first for the campaign following the main break, followed by his 2nd midway through the term. for the Dragons it was a big 3rd quarter though, decreasing the Roys lead by 2 goals and giving the Dragons a glimpse of victory, following goals to Mooresome for his 2nd, and rookie livewire caddyshack for his first in a Dragons outfit proving that the youth within the club is in good hands.

Unfortunately it wasn't enough as the Roys kicked away again, loyal Dragons clubman, roo2macca kicked his first of the campaign, and iBeng kicked his 3rd of the game getting his campaign for another ALF off to a promising start. The Dragons falling to a 33 point loss, however.

For the Dragons, former captain Hate did very well, holding his own in the ruck, winning the hitouts with 13, and 29 touches of his own leading by example as a leader should. Rookie captain cammo6556 also did very well leading by example, both on and off the field, racking up 27 touches of his own and 9 marks to go with those touches.
Also doing well was vice captain WFL with 22 of his own touches, grabbing 8 marks in addition, and adding some grit to the midfield with 3 tackles.

Dennis Crumpet did well in his first run out for the club, taking 20 touches of his own, and kicking his first 2 goals in Dragons colours. Former Wolf, Knifey Spoony also impressing for his new club with 20 touches, and 5 marks. iBeng kickstarted his campaign with 3 goals of his own aswell and was the clubs main focal point up forward. Proving that the club is in good hands, rookie Blaze Storm also added to the goal tally with 2 of his own.

Dragons FFC 2 6 , 6 9 , 10 13 , 12 15 - 87
Roys FFC 7 4 , 13 5 , 15 10 , 18 12 - 120

Round 2 will see the Dragons travel to Punt Road to take on the Fighting Furies who came out on top over a lacklustre Warriors outfit where they hope to make amends following a dissapointing start to the campaign.

Best: Hate cammo6556 WFL dennis crumpet Knifey Spoony

Goals: iBeng 3, Blaze Storm , Mooresome , dennis crumpet 2, VSTone , roo2macca , caddyshack

Conditions: Fine, but cloudy, at Dragon Island

Hatchy1992's view: We will want to put that dissapointing loss aside, and now focus entirely on getting our first win on the board next week over at Punt Road. We showed promising signs at stages throughout the game, holding our own in the premiership quarter which gives us a good foundation with an even spread of goalkickers to work on at training for next week. I was impressed by the work of our rookies, both in the match thread, and in the match, led by Blaze Storm. They were led ably by our leaders cammo6556, Hate, WFL and dennis crumpet. I hope to move on following my dissapointing outing for my debut with my biggest impact coming at the bar, drowning my sorrows as we fell to our first loss. I was impressed by the showing at the bar, with most of us making an appearance, and a few of us having to be helped home following a night on the piss. Overall, although on field we had one to forget, it was a good effort following the game.
