I just came on here to have a bit of a rant post game before I went to bed to only see the final score 75-all.

That will do me we seriously looked clueless from late in the 2nd quarter and I think kicked 1 goal to I turned it off.

I am going to have to go back and watch the last 7 mins did we became superhuman.

Someone please explain I am lost.

Exactly. It wasn’t the goal that put us on par or in the lead.

You are wasting your breath, the only real changes will be made in the preseason.
Coaching dept follow their protocols, trust the system.
Only now and again do we see them thinking on their feet.
Our ceiling is set with this mantra, and the positions that are a worry, well the
players at Peel, ie Erasmus is wasting his time playing in a position he won’t get
a game in unless there is an injury.
If Jlo is betting on Fyfe, Walters, JOM for 2025, he’s all in, and you can guarantee we are changing coaches in 2026.
We chase players that other clubs or the player has worked his butt off to fix their
game.
Sturt, hasn’t fixed his defensive qualities, still doesn’t have an AFL body.
Erasmus needs a sprint coach. Warner is the perfect example.
Voss has issues with his hands out front to mark.
We need another coach added, preferably with experience and an outside voice.
IMO our coaching group is spread too thin, and most of our issues could be fixed
in-house instead of at the trade table.

  • Banfield's goal kicking. How he is the best goal kicker on the team at the moment is a head scratcher, but keep it up, Banners.
  • Sharp's a gun. We lost langdon and replaced him with acres. We lost acres and replaced him with Henry. We replaced him with Sharp and he hasn't missed a beat.   • Go ahead and throw hate on me, but I think Sonny needs a break. He just flops around and doesn't keep his feet. My 15yo son does this in soccer too. I tell him, if you fall on the ground, you give the other team the advantage. Sonny needs to keep his feet and bring some toughness to the contest. ATM, he's bringing almost nothing in terms of production. I'm very frustrated with him.
  • Our contest work. Usually we're good inside, but I thought we got sucked into the contest and had 2-4 people clustered around the ball and the pies were able to pop it outside and take off. We did most of the chasing and they did the driving.
  • Darcy looked out of shape and slow. He's a long way back. I wonder if we should have went with Jacko as the #1 ruck? But, I guess if we don't give Darcy a chance to play and improve his fitness, he'll never be right. I just thought he looked like exactly what he was: A guy who's been in and out of the side with injuries.
  • Goal kicking. What's wrong with Amiss? ugh.
  • Pierce's goal. So huge. So happy for him after the last couple weeks he's had dealing with Cam's passing.

So, in the end, I would say that's a proper result. We had moments where we dominated and others where the Pies were on top. We should have lost but had the game been 2 min longer, maybe we win. If Sharp kicks the goal, we win. Take the two points and on to the next week.

Mate, if I was following an NFL side there is no way known I would bring the knowledge, insight and passion you bring for Freo. I’m proud you’re one of us.

I’d rather replace Jye with Voss and give Jye a couple of games at Peel to work on his set shot routine and rebuild his confidence. Love Tabs but his time is over

We are starting to sound like a broken record in regards to Walters and Emmett but for christ sake we can not keep carrying them. If we are going to carry 2 small forwards then bring in Simpson and Delean and let them learn on the job.

I haven't read through the thread so I don't know if anyone else has mentioned it but Darcy's ruck work left a lot to be desired. Too many times he was hitting it over the back where we had no numbers.

The first two center clearances of the 3rd quarter were a reflection of our issues. We win them and have a clear kick forward but instead handball it and turn the ball over. Sometimes keeping it simple is the best option.

Jye's goal kicking is atrocious but my god some help for him inside 50 would be nice. The amount of times he is outnumbered and still gets the ball kicked to him is ridiculous. We made it so bloody easy for Moore and Frampton tonight.

If one of our key forwards could take a ******* contested mark it might go some way to helping us win a game.

I wish I was keeping a tally of Jackson hospital handpasses because he added another tonight. I don't get how he can be so ******* stupid.

It didnt help that for a lot of the game JL refused to man up their extra tall down back so Amiss was often 1 v 2. We seem to play the extra at the stoppages but you need to man up the loose man they play down back to give the forwards a chance.
 
We need to be better at the stoppages, Hayden Young will learn a lot from last night.

Was at the game last night. Now watching the replay and it’s obvious how many times Pies use little tactics to delay giving ball back.
There’s one where Bobby Hill fists the ball miles into the crowd when it’s clearly crossed the line for a behind.
The one against Ryan cost them a 50m penalty.
It’s clearly a little thing they do.

They didn’t remonstrate heavily. They knew they stuffed up.

Cracking game in the first and last quarters, with a lot of meh in the middle.

If Emmet and Walters had been doing their job properly this year we would likely be top 4 comfortably

They are literally hamstringing his coaching but he is smart enough find other ways

It's a funny game...
 
Had date night in Freo last night, avoiding scores was difficult but walking into the movie at half time happy we are in the game then seeing it was a draw then thinking Pies had kicked 5 in a row to steal a draw then realise WE had kicked 5 in a row to steal a draw was a roller-coaster...

Man, I keep saying it but we are "this close" to being a genuinely good team. A bit of experience not to over handball and some talent up forward and we will just click. I'll go early but we'll be top 4 next year and not look back.

Our bottom 6 players let us down tonight and they were a couple of sadly nearly retired stars, a couple of KPP kids and Emmett. So much to like about the squad as a whole.

On those bottom 6, I'm not even Sturt fan boy but for the love of all things Pav, only one of Walters and Emmett can be in the team and that's as sub. Can Sturt please get a 4 week block of backing like Emmett, I can't watch him anymore. Peel can't keep dominating and no one be brought in, it's bullshit
