I saw that and immediately thought "see, Longmuir CAN coach!"I was very happy with that vision
There is a lesson here BStaff17 ... You are not to watch us live on TV for the rest of the season! So WTF how on earth did we get a draw i turned it off with the shits when Bobby Hill kicked the goal to kick 25 points clear with 7 mins to go
I just came on here to have a bit of a rant post game before I went to bed to only see the final score 75-all.
That will do me we seriously looked clueless from late in the 2nd quarter and I think kicked 1 goal to I turned it off.
I am going to have to go back and watch the last 7 mins did we became superhuman.
Someone please explain I am lost.
Exactly. It wasn’t the goal that put us on par or in the lead. For all the complaining about that being a free kick, and acting like it cost them the game, they were still up by 3 goals after Darcy kicked it.
You are wasting your breath, the only real changes will be made in the preseason.I hope Sturt and Voss have huge games today. I absolutely love Walters as he imo is a top 10 docker of all time but he had zero impact last night. Emmett turns the ball over.
Id be happy with those changes.
Mate, if I was following an NFL side there is no way known I would bring the knowledge, insight and passion you bring for Freo. I’m proud you’re one of us.Some good:
- Banfield's goal kicking. How he is the best goal kicker on the team at the moment is a head scratcher, but keep it up, Banners.
- Sharp's a gun. We lost langdon and replaced him with acres. We lost acres and replaced him with Henry. We replaced him with Sharp and he hasn't missed a beat. He may even be the best of the lot when it's all said and done. Lesson here is trust the list management. They know what they're doing. If he would have slotted that last goal he'd be the hero of the match.
- Clark continues to be one of our most important players. As I predicted (pats self on back) in the preview thread, Sharp and Clark were the team's heartbeat.
- Ball movement. We were not consistent, but we had a lot of excellent handball chains and ball movement through the corridor. Our lack of execution and skill errors are what let us down.
Some bad:
- Skill errors. Missed handballs, s*** kicks, and poor choices were our biggest weakness today. The good news is that we're not always that bad and this can be corrected.
- Go ahead and throw hate on me, but I think Sonny needs a break. He just flops around and doesn't keep his feet. My 15yo son does this in soccer too. I tell him, if you fall on the ground, you give the other team the advantage. Sonny needs to keep his feet and bring some toughness to the contest. ATM, he's bringing almost nothing in terms of production. I'm very frustrated with him.
- Our contest work. Usually we're good inside, but I thought we got sucked into the contest and had 2-4 people clustered around the ball and the pies were able to pop it outside and take off. We did most of the chasing and they did the driving.
- Darcy looked out of shape and slow. He's a long way back. I wonder if we should have went with Jacko as the #1 ruck? But, I guess if we don't give Darcy a chance to play and improve his fitness, he'll never be right. I just thought he looked like exactly what he was: A guy who's been in and out of the side with injuries.
- Goal kicking. What's wrong with Amiss? ugh.
- Pierce's goal. So huge. So happy for him after the last couple weeks he's had dealing with Cam's passing.
So, in the end, I would say that's a proper result. We had moments where we dominated and others where the Pies were on top. We should have lost but had the game been 2 min longer, maybe we win. If Sharp kicks the goal, we win. Take the two points and on to the next week.
I’d rather replace Jye with Voss and give Jye a couple of games at Peel to work on his set shot routine and rebuild his confidence. Love Tabs but his time is overI noticed tonight how often Amiss was double teamed in marking contests, usually with Moore and one other. He had little chance of even bringing the ball to ground let alone marking it.
I’m wondering if we need to reconsider Tabs (if and when fit). Play Jye more half forward so that he can see more of the ball and not have to attract the best defender.
These are the 1 percenters that a good innovative coach brings to a clubLike I said earlier, the Pies have been doing this ever since McRae took over. Glad the umps are getting sick of it.
It didnt help that for a lot of the game JL refused to man up their extra tall down back so Amiss was often 1 v 2. We seem to play the extra at the stoppages but you need to man up the loose man they play down back to give the forwards a chance. We are starting to sound like a broken record in regards to Walters and Emmett but for christ sake we can not keep carrying them. If we are going to carry 2 small forwards then bring in Simpson and Delean and let them learn on the job.
I haven't read through the thread so I don't know if anyone else has mentioned it but Darcy's ruck work left a lot to be desired. Too many times he was hitting it over the back where we had no numbers.
The first two center clearances of the 3rd quarter were a reflection of our issues. We win them and have a clear kick forward but instead handball it and turn the ball over. Sometimes keeping it simple is the best option.
Jye's goal kicking is atrocious but my god some help for him inside 50 would be nice. The amount of times he is outnumbered and still gets the ball kicked to him is ridiculous. We made it so bloody easy for Moore and Frampton tonight.
If one of our key forwards could take a ******* contested mark it might go some way to helping us win a game.
I wish I was keeping a tally of Jackson hospital handpasses because he added another tonight. I don't get how he can be so ******* stupid.
He’s a secondhand car salesman who fell in a bag of elbows and came out sucking a nipple.Man I’m watching Craig McRae’s presser and jeez talk about corny s**t
The point is we kicked it there even when he was 1 on 2It didnt help that for a lot of the game JL refused to man up their extra tall down back so Amiss was often 1 v 2. We seem to play the extra at the stoppages but you need to man up the loose man they play down back to give the forwards a chance.
No surprise to me that it’s women seeing through McRae. He’s off the smarm scale.McRae is a flog in the same way Fagan is.
Hey you.Pretty crazy that we can have uproar and what not about some decision that can be shut down with a simple tweet.
Kinda makes everyone complaining about it look like an idiot.
Well I missed the swans & Port games so were about even at this stage haha. There is a lesson here BStaff17 ... You are not to watch us live on TV for the rest of the season!
Someone that took the initiative instead of handballingShoutout to Bailey. That goal from 50 was great. Really good game awareness.
He certainly canI saw that and immediately thought "see, Longmuir CAN coach!"
It's a funny game...So WTF how on earth did we get a draw i turned it off with the shits when Bobby Hill kicked the goal to kick 25 points clear with 7 mins to go
