Most years I really don't consider many essendon players. This year however there are quite a few I will consider after watching the NAB cup.

Both mature age recruits could be options. Davis last year was going to play quite a lot of seniors til he got injuried so he will be looked at. Kav is cheap and I think will get a lot more options. Myers I think will be worth the risk considering they give you way too many trades (should be less than 15). I think Heppell will improve and I will consider him as well as Watson and Goddard. Ryder was going extermly well last year before he got injuried.

guys whats happening with winderlich? i know he's injury prone blah blah blah, but he is real cheap and could average 90.

I noticed he didn't play NAB round 1. is he any chance in the next few weeks?

Hird said he will play the next game.

I think about picking Dempsey every year, though I always talk myself out of it as I always see him as an injury risk of missing 4+ games, anyone else thinking this could be the year he can play 20+ games and average 95+??

not really worth it tbh. Goddard is the only defender I'd consider from Essendon

I can't see Hibberd averaging 95+... Ill probably only end up with Goddard from us in the backline,,, Unless I can convince myself on Dempsey, he's proved he can score multiple 120+ games, just needs to rid himself of those few of sub 70's

dempsey is in for a big year. take out his two sub affected games last season he averaged 81.

factor that in with returning from a serious injury. With having a strong pre season, and looking awesome in nab round 1. he will average above 90 this season, and for me, with 44 trades, he is worth the risk.

Hibberd had SC scores of 116, 92. 89 and 87 before he did his hamstring against Collingwood in round 5. With a 3rd pre-season under his belt I think he might be ready to take the next step. He loves the contested stuff, he's got a great kick/handball ratio and he's a great kick of the footy. Expect him also to get marks out loose as he'll be hit up to drive the ball forward.

There's a lot to like about him, atm I'm sticking with Goddard and Heppell, but I'll be keeping a close eye on how he goes over the rest of the pre-season. If he continues to impress he may replace Hepp and be a great POD.

More of the same expected from Stanton this year? Could Goddard coming in take some focus away from him?

To be honest, it's more Zaharakis being back that helps, Stanton was leading the Brownlow until Zaharakis got injured.
Stanton is more of a DT pick than an SC one, but he's solid in SC.

Thanks mate. Could be a silly question but I thought Zaharakis has hurt his quad again?

first injury was to the tendon. this is more of the tissue

He'll be in for round 1 :) it's just a tendon, as Eth said!

Hey Guys, just wondering your thoughts on Nick Kommer for a midfield bench spot? Really like the look of him but think he might the a good sub candidate if he does play early. Chances for Round 1 selection? Cheers

Seems possible he may get a gig, but I wouldn't bank on it until he actually gets named in round 1 as currently he's on the fringe.

Anyone writing off Jobe for the start of the season? With not much match fitness in his legs due to the knee he has to drop in price over the first few rounds while his motor warms up. I'm thinking going Dal Santo in his place due to his price and the fact they play GWS/GC in the first 3 rounds, then direct trade to Jobe come round 6 when we play the Giants. Thoughts?

This rubbish here, forget about it. Absolute superstar, lock him in now. 31 touches at 93.5%, 7 tackles, 2 goals, 1 assist. Might only have been GWS, but that's the kind of stuff we want to see.

hey guys, I'm pretty keen on Elliot Kavanagh. What are you're thoughts on his job security? He'd have to be close to best 22 this year?
