The reason is if you've got your rookies at ~$180k they may only have ~$120k to make for you. Whereas you get rookies at sub $100k and if you pick the right ones they'll make you close to $200k.

Also, be wary of the impact of the sub. Guys $150K+ are priced at 36pts+ I rookie playing only half a game will be unlikely to score far above 40. Not much scope for price increase there so I wouldn't be treating any of those guys as cash cows. Swallow is a slightly different prospect because he's more likely to get genuine game time from Rd 1 but there are plenty of others who may not achieve the price rises you're expecting nothwithstanding they're playing regularly (particularly in the early part of the season)

Glandular fever stalled his comeback, but he was out in the first place for a knee injury, I think.

Yeah your right

Shuey has had injury and illness problems - a brillant recipe

But he offers as much as Foley and Mclean and Swallow. But i tend to have to agree with the thinking of going for cheaper rookies in the mids. Plenty there that should get games, plenty of GC rookies to like aswell.

I still think you need to pick one of Shuey, Swallow, Mclean, Foley to add that security of knowing they are best 21.

120K would be a bargin.....but how can he be?

2009 average X MN and give him a 40% discount = 165K. Then he could have a GC price rise aswell (Could be as low as 5K but could be as higher. m0nty has given him a 20K hike). 40% is the biggest discount you can get right?

If Harris is under 170K he is a lock IMO.

Dr. Dream Team is a tool tho. He is the worst dream team "expert" for any site.

Looks like Maverick Weller fancies his chances of playing in the second round:

I’ll want to do whatever I can not to be overawed, but at the same time knowing I’m going to be in for an absolute scrap in what’ll be the biggest game of my life

Should be quite a bit cheaper than Swallow and is now in the leadership group. http://bit.ly/fU3cXs

It's official AFL that his price was released from so it may be unlikely that his price is higher. Still, 120k seems too cheap.

Agreed with the statement DrDT is the worst 'expert' from any site. I've been reading the pieces for a bit of a laugh and hoping that some prices are posted :)

So we know a few of the 2011 prices from articles on the AFL site - I agree with those that have said any prices on the AFL site are likely to be correct - but does anyone know when the 2011 AFL Preseason Record will be available in newsagents so we know all the correct prices, positions, etc.???

Not too sure Juzz but shouldn't be far away.

As for the positions, almost all will be correct as they are picked up from the prospectus. Prices will be correct other than the odd few with discounts from approx 7-8 or less games last year and high draft /GC rookies.

Fan Footy should give you a pretty close estimate of what you need until the DT site opens in a week.
