F**k whinging.

Unity & Stabiltity or death.

Stay positive and start the journey....dont dismiss this board because of a few quotes prior to the election.

Good to see a big turn out there tonight, hopefully the membership line starts ticking along starting tomorrow.

Very good crowd of about 600.

even better, something voicing support for the team and the membership number! forget about the gold coast for a minute and try and be positive!

Forget the Gold Coast and think about the membership number???

Don't you think these things are linked?

If we increase the number of games on the Gold Coast does anyone seriously think this will help membership?

Why would a Victorian want to see less games in Melbourne?

Good news!!!

Joseph and the Brayshaws will do all they can to keep North in Melbourne...

That is what I believe and have not heard any different from them.

Is it nice on fantasy island?

Not really, only with fellow members that turned up to the election meeting.
May i say that there could be a little egg on your face?
If you are going to give it be prepared to to take it!
You know, I never really had an issue with win_news having an opinion.

Only that his only opinions related to the election.

That's the sort of crap that was annoying everyone. Newbies with an agenda, and you're sounding like one yourself.

The votes didn't fall deRauch's way. And I'd like to have had Perko! on the Board, this didn't happen.

But there's no shame in having pride in your club and wanting people elected who's views are in line with your own, namely that we stay here, in Melbourne.

There's shame in being a clownshoes tho. Plenty.

Look, dont get me wrong...i share the worry.

But, i was there tonight and i dont recall the announcement of the permanent relocation to Gold Coast.....just play it by ear rather than heap negative energy on theis issue.

I am assuming you live in Borneo.

I know how you feel buddy. I actually feel ill.
This could be the end of our great club in Melbourne.

It was worse being there - not at all clear Mark Brayshaw was eligible for election but we have to shut up "for the good of the club"

It would appear a lot of posters didn't see James Brayshaw on the news tonight.
I don't think there is too much doubt about where he sees this club in the future.

Well said. :thumbsu:

You must be joking, were members even allowed to ask questions?

Mark Brayshaw didnt have a membership last season.. if that answers your question

Bang on. The irony of people arguing about buying or not buying memberships.

Cough, cough....Mark Brayshaw....cough......

The only thing that upsets me is that we do not have "independants" on the board. I do not think there is anyone there that represents the typical member.

Joseph and the Brayshaws were always going to get a lot of the votes because they are big name identities to the average supporter.

De Rauch made no promise of keeping the club a Melbourne identity, he thought it was okay by us to have 5 or 6 home games on the GC. If we have 5 or 6 home games on the GC it is only a matter of time until we perish.

De Rauch and others may not have had enough votes to get on the board but you only need 25% to stop the club from moving, all we need to do in order to remain a Melbourne club is to secure enough key shareholders who are not prepared to see the club shoved off.

At the end of the day, it comes down to supporters. It wouldn't matter if we had a rabbid pro-Melbourne board in place, if we do not have enough support here we would lose the club one way or another.

I just hope we can get some competent people on board making the policies which at least gives a chance to survive here. I think all the supporters would accept a relocation instead of death but only as a last resort, in my mind the club hasn't even come close to exhausting all options here and has not really put the time or money towards maximising our membership and profile in Melbourne. Bulldogs have and it is why we are so far behind them. Their success in turning their membership around should be seen as what can be achieved if you put your mind to something. Their club is loyal to their supporter, ours is not.

That has to change.

Does anyone truly believe that Joseph & Co. don't love the club?

That isn't the point for us. I'm sure they do love the club and i'm sure they feel going to the Gold Coast is the best thing for the club. Hell it very well could be a bonanza with the AFL throwing millions of dollars our way but how does that help the average fan who likes going along to the games?

You have had your say.

It's now up to the members to show how much they want the club to stay in Melbourne, more memberships the better. But it is very clear that if people do not join up where we will be heading...
