except is not as simple as that, any given year there be more than 1/3 of the list go out of contract, some will deserve a pay rise, some will retire and some gets traded off. is not as simple as reid on 500k he leaves you have 500k to spend.

Fact is, North have to put up the biggest dollars in league history for any player to even give them a second thought... That's desperation for you.

There are around 11 other club's that haven't snared a big or semi big fish. I don't know why you throw north into the picture solely?
JK is not a restricted or non restricted free agent, therefore the money offers to attract such a player are high.
Carltons and Stkildas offers would be in the same ball park as Norths is for JK.
Dusty will attracted insane offers all around because he is a restricted free agent. Not just from North.

I can't see them spending massive money on another midfielder. Mills, Heeney, Hannebery, Parker, Florent, Jack and Kennedy have long term contracts. And there are also emerging players they would try to keep like Jones, Hewett, Lloyd, Robinson, Newman, Aliir and Papley who come out of contract within the next 18 months.

Over the next few years, I can only see Sydney spending big on a young big name forward if Reid leaves.

I was pretty young at the time so I didn't realise how close that was to happening.

I saw an old video not that long ago of a Richmond board member on the news stating it was a done deal and they were just waiting for Plugger to get back and sign the papers IIRC

Take this as you will but I heard from 'someone that knows someone' that North have upped their bid to 8million over 6 years and Richmond has now offered 6 for 6 in response. Marley Williams at North is a good friend and the only other club he will consider.

They see Martin as a gun mid beyond elite, which they lack. Very good A graders but none elite in their prime. Can also rest forward and complement Buddy. If he goes to the Swans will play 30-40% as an isolated small FF

Tippetts contract has been restructured so his final year of contract is spread over three years rather than 1 year. His contract won't be an issue.

Him returning to Australia is not something Richmond are going to come out and announce a press conference on to tell the world they have had his deportation overturned.. But they are actively involved in doing whatever they can to look after Dustin's welfare in regards to his family situation.

He will not leave Richmond.

If he does, I'll run naked down punt road until I'm arrested.. I know Dustin from a social circle, not from watching him in the grandstands.
