With pick 44 Hawthorn take Will Snelling.

Named on the interchange in the 2015 under 18 AA team, he seems to be a good midfield option to come in and replace Mitchell. He wins the contested ball, so will complement my other picks. I'm not afraid of picking a smaller player, think you can get great value that way.

Here is a profile thanks to Dukes Of Hurley
Club: West Adelaide
Position: Midfielder
Height: 176 cm
Weight: 75 kg
Player comparison: Lachie Neale

Snelling is a real hard nut who throws himself at the football with every chance he gets. He finds plenty of football on the inside. With sub-180 centimetre players, clubs are most concerned about whether they can win the football against bigger players. Snelling proved he could still rack up the ball in the SANFL seniors, thus ticking that box off. Snelling racks up the tackles, and his work in the clearances is also quite good. He’s a great leader and his endurance base is already terrific. Expect him to play a few games next year if all goes well.

thorne89 i would like to put it out there that i wont be participating in the rest of the draft and will pass up on each of the remaining picks North have.

Melbourne take Swan Districts key forward Dylan Smith. Writeups of him and Barry to come, but just for 2006_Eagles here's a pic of Dylan Smith playing for Fremantle back in 2004.

I'm kinda glad you made my decision easier have been debating Smith and my next player for sometime

Pick 42 (was 46) - Ben "Barry" Crocker (forward/mid, Oakleigh Chargers, 185cm/84kg)

Undersized but strong-marking, high-leaping forward who captained the Chargers this year. Has been used through the midfield but doesn't have great pace or kicking skills so IMO won't get much of a chance in the middle at AFL level unless he improves those things (or he gets drafted to a crap team ... wait, who am I picking for again?) Despite his downsides he's probably best available here after people kept taking my top choices, plus as an added bonus he shapes as a potential replacement for Jeremy Howe.

Pick 46 (was 51) - Dylan "Not the ex-Roo and Docker" Smith (key forward, Swan Districts Black Ducks, 197cm/86kg)

Promising key position player who's a good size and shape but struggled to put it together this year for both WA and the Ducks. Can play both forward and back and at his size can also give the starting ruckman a chopout. Picked here so the Demons can back in their excellent development expertise and get the best out of him. Haha, but seriously ... if Smith comes on he could play forward and as Gawn's backup which would avoid having to waste Hogan in that role, or rely on Dawes who let's face it is a poor man's Quinten Lynch.

Melbourne don't have much depth at all in the ruck, it's basically Gawn and Spencer (the latter of which I don't rate at all) and then pinch-hitters. For that reason I'd intended to take Gach Nyuon at pick 42 but got beaten to it. That being the case and there being no other rucks I'd take in the ND, I went for a key forward at 46 instead and took best available at 42.

Just for the record I considered Cuningham and Tahana at 42, and Moore at 46 but Smith's ability to go into the ruck got him the nod.

Richmond pick 48

David Cunningham

183cm 79kg Midfielder

To be honest im suprised Cunningham is still around knightmare has him at pick 35 and for good reason he's a speedster and uses it through traffic or on the outside he tested the 20m sprint in 2.91 seconds. He uses the footy well and is a pretty rounded midfielder...

Like this pick. Classy, good disposal and incredibly evasive. Can win a bit of his own ball as well. Wouldn't mind if we picked him up with our second he looks pretty talented.

I wouldn't be surprised if he goes in the top 30 after his game in the TAC cup final he lite the wings up with his speed and dash !
