Come draft night i would be expecting riley bonner to be a crow. Crows have been wanting for an elite outside players with elite footskills and decision making and the south australian is a perfect fit.

Agreed, although I think they also need a quality inside mid now that Danger has gone and Thompson is getting on. Hopefully Brad Crouch can relieve some of the pressure there. Would expect them to take a Rhys Mathieson if he was available at they're pick.

Might pick up mathison with their first pick and bonner with their second. As bonner Defensive game is up to AFL standard atm, he could be developed as a wingmen.

All my preferred options out on the table now. So with pick (what was 13) Adelaide look to improve their mid sized forwards and im working on the assumption that he is 100% fit. Too risky for my beloved west coast but with a really solid player already looked away Adelaide select Ryan Burton.

Callum Ah Chee
X-factor in a box.
Ah Chee has the lot, express speed, leap, exquisite skills and will be the next Cyril Rioli in two to three years.

From all reports is a well grounded kid with a good head on his shoulders.

Will work well with Bruce and McCartin for years to come for the Saints.

Will never be a great accumulator but neither is Rioli.

You have picked up two player's that have had some pretty serious injuries...Could really pay off though, some bold drafting i like it !!

I was going to take him at 19. Worried about his knee though so maybe a blessing that I missed him.

Ryan Burton is too risky as a 1st rd pick ,watched his videos and great kid with terrific attitude .I hope he does make it .

Hard to see him lasting until the second round. Someone will take the punt. It's a big risk agreed but in a weak draft and with such upside it's definitely worth it. I think somewhere between 15-25 is where he'll get picked up. Would be stoked if he lasted to our first.

Profile for my unmatched bid, Pick 38. Fremantle - Nick Coughlan (GWS ACAD)

Rationale - Freo need a new pair of book ends and I'm very happy to get Coughlan @38, Skinner may still be on the board but I suspect he will be gone by then.
Big guys that can kick, have athleticism and a good set of hands are always high on my list.

I will be going best available with my first pick.

Nicholas Coughlan
Born 12.9.1996, 195cm, 83kg
AFL biography: Tall forward with good athletic ability and strong overhead. Agile and presents well on the lead. A reliable set shot for goal as well as an excellent field kick on his preferred right foot.

+Good athlete for size
+Smart
+Excellent field kick.
+Strong Hands

- Over age
- Injuries

*Finished 2nd overall in the draft camp kicking test

25. Western Bulldogs - Nick Coughlan (195cm, 83kg defender from Murray Bushrangers)

Evidently I like Coughlan more than others, I've had him around my top 30 all season while he initially only received an invite to the State Screening this year. Overlooked as an 18 year old forward last year, he has really impressed as a tall defender in 2015 - having made his debut and not looked out of place in the Footscray VFL side. He was always agile for a player his size, he just looks more comfortable playing behind the ball. Good level of attack to his game too.

A handful of midfielders I am considering at my pick, but with my focus being on hard runners who can contribute goals from the midfield, I find it hard to go past RYAN CLARKE for Gold Coast's 2nd pick.

He's a hard runner who has a good turn of pace and hits the scoreboard. Think he could contribute from day dot if required and will provided some goal kicking power/outside dash after Harley leaving. It is no big secret that I've been big on this guy for a while and would be thrilled if he makes it through to the Eagles' first pick.

You and me both mate. Once again another great pick. Was hoping I could snag him with my first but it was always unlikely.

There are five selections I'd be very happy to pick up with my first selection remaining undrafted, but six selections before my pick. I'm gonna be mad if they're all taken ahaha

North Melbourne take Rhys Mathieson with Pick 20. I believe we have taken the best available talent with our pick. Highley regarded as a top 10-15 pick in this years draft, we are delighted to have landed the classy inside Mid.

Name: Rhys Mathieson

Position: Midfielder

TOP STORIES

DOB: 10/01/1997

Height: 185cm

Weight: 79kg

Draft range: 5-15

Pub summary: Consistent competitive inside midfielder

Strengths

  • Endurance
  • Workrate
  • Leadership
  • Kicks goals
Weaknesses

  • Doesn’t always take the time he should with his disposal
Overall

Rhys Mathieson is another inside midfielder who does not have any particularly eye catching traits, despite being one of the best midfielders in this draft.

Mathieson is a footballer’s footballer. His work rate and commitment to the contest has made him one of the strongest performers in his age bracket over the last two years and he should be rewarded by being selected in the first round of the draft.

Mathieson is one of the more talented players in the draft. His ability to win the football inside the contest is elite, his hands are extremely clean and he picks the right time to go win the football, importantly he does use the ball well once he has won it, even if occasionally he rushes his disposal.

As an inside footballer it is important you have other strings to your bow if you are to get drafted early. Mathieson has this in his ability to go forward and kick goals. If he doesn’t he is still valuable as a forward due to the defensive pressure he provides, something which coaches and teammates will love.

Expect Mathieson to get drafted around pick 10, anything after pick 15 would be an absolute steal. I’m very confident he will make it at AFL level.
