I honestly would like to see Konstas Head with Mcsweeney three....they won't
but going forward to the Ashes I don't like our chances with ussie and marnus in the same team at 1 and 3 ...but thats another story
Ussie and marnus will do the job most likely this series and in the winter but next summer season against the Poms if those two are still there I can see some serious issues

rightly or wrongly they think he can cover the quicks and is almost a allrounder (yuck) so ticks two boxes for the coaches.
I like Josh too BGman very good player against spin but needs to ton up first in the shield and have a good season
good move by josh though moving he will get good recognition playing for NSW

Surely CA aint picking a bloke for Test cricket after only four FC games spread over two seasons. There are guys that have put in five seasons of hard grind that far more deserve a Test debut over Connolly.

I thought Maxwell was hard done by when he came out of the 2017 Bangladesh series as incumbent at six having performed serviceably on tour and was dropped for Shaun Marsh for the Ashes but his ship has well and truly sailed now.

Have said on BF before,Maxwell is the biggest waste of talent for test cricket I have seen for a long time.Never given the opportunity to play red ball cricket and is judged on what he does in white ball cricket.In white ball cricket he bats to low and is expected to bat in the last few overs and play the big risky shots.BUT I agree with you,to old to bring into the test side now and time to blood younger cricketers on the test scene.Hopefully will be playing shield cricket for Victoria in the latter part of the shield season.

Or here is a thought- play him against SL. These are tests that the young guys can learn. I'd also be fine with 'resting' Khawaja for one

Don't agree, Bartlett playing Shield is so important long term. All 3 of Spencer, X, and Jhye need to play the entire Shield season. Lets see if all 3 can be relied on to last back to back games, all 3 have that small query
