Falcons were very poor. Eastern a great running game and worked vey well as a team. New kid Wesley from Knox kicked 4 in the 1st and 3 in the last.

Falcons got nothing from McGuane who looks to have gone off the boil a tad lately. Higgins and Simpkin quiet. Wormald good last quarter but nothing else.

Hocking okay, Adams brilliant, Kelleher okay in backline. Armstrong dominated the ruck. Marcovic solid at CHF.

wasn't there but heard it was probably geelongs worst game of the year and where terrible with not many winners on the ground.
eastern were to quick and strong all day.
kelleher took mcguane to the cleaners forcing him to go down back
higgans and crook were solid
simpkin come off with some sort of head injury at the start of the 3rd.. not sure what happened there does anyone else know?

It would be fair to say that geelong need to start winning games before the finals to find some better form. Eastern arn't that crash hot and for Geelong to lose by that much is dissapointing.

I have a feeling she'll be right though.

No idea re Wesley. 186cm, 90kg. Big lad, strong mark. Does that help? Makes the draft by 5 days.

First thought was Adam Prior, strong body on body work. The Geelong defenders needed to play smarter, stand off him and jump at him ... going body to body was futile.

Eastern really dominated the aerial contests. I thought that was the difference in the game, the ability of Ranges players to take contested marks.

McGuane contributed nothing after he missed the mark. Moment the ball was on the deck he was out of the game and Kelleher was free to do as he pleased.

Yeah saw that. Was running with the ball and as someone reached to tackle him he seemed to cop a poke in the eye, perhaps just above. I think the taping was for bleeding more than a head injury as such.

Kelleher move to the backline might have been a double edged sword - beating McGuane but also might have brought Eastern forwards into the game more.

Some classy run through the middle from some bottom age kids - Hayes, Wilson, Adams.

Higgin's may have a bit of the ball but nearly every kick was on his left, which in most cases he has no control over, went the the opposition and his handballs only two went to his own players still a very selfish player. If he gives off to the runners who are assisting him the falcons forwards, who are making position in front of their man, may have a better chance.
Of the backs they need to be more direct instead of going sideways. When they went direct earlier in the season they were a more organised unit.

mcquane does drop his head but only in frustration because of the way the ball is being delivered to him. If he was Richo he would go off his head. His half backs and mid fielders are killing him. Also the mid fielders need to push up the ground more and man up the opposition midfielders who help run the ball out of the falcons forward line
