First year Of the merger...... 9-1 after ten rounds then decimated by injuries to miss the finals

They are still improving too. Huge competition for spots in the team. Charles Ferraro, Simioni and Sankovic still to come back. And a new signing to start playing soon.

Massive 2 weeks after the long weekend, East Keilor then Pascoe Vale (surely the edfl match of the round that week)

Very good player for a young kid..... Loads of talent

Make no mistake about the northern saints have an easy draw this year. The next 5 weeks will be very tough for them and test them against the better teams in the comp. I'm sure certain teams will be going out to send a clear message and apply the blow torch.
The B grade comp is very close this year which is great to see.
There could be a real reality check coming the northern saints way after playing the top line teams.

Nobody is denying our easier draw..... Fact is though we have beaten westemadows keilor park hadfield and hillside.... None of whom are a rabble..... Also blew a five goal lead against east keilor....

Yes the toughest games are still ahead of us.... I think we can give the more fancied sides a shake

Looking at the fixture and results to date you have only beat one quality side away, westmeadows.
Before the season started you could also pencil in 8 wins playing Moonee Valley, Roxy, Hillside and Jacana all twice.
The top line sides all play each other twice!
The interesting part will be the second half of season for the northern saints and they may only ended up with three wins in there last 9 games. How many wins would a club need to play finals football?

Let's just wait and see and see how the second half of the season pans out.

The draw was made based on knowing who would be playing Div 3 next year. Not their fault.

What odds next year they face very single team in the top half of the ladder to start season 2012?

They play AW and Tulla at home which will help. They could win 5 or 6 of those last nine which would get them into finals. A huge bonus will be percentage which will favour them too.

They should reach 40 points for sure and two more wins may do it.

How funny would it be if they actually won the thing? I mean they won't, but gee it would be a pisser if they did.

Anything is possible, never say never.
Tulla are a super hard running team who play to structure and stick to it. From what l have seen they are the best side to date. There mids run hard and forwards present with an open forward line. They all seem to know there roles and play to there strengths. A well balanced and drilled side.

Airport West are a young side who run and carry well. A strong and physical side that dont back down. Some experienced players with in there group. They will find another gear come the finals and seasons end. Pap plays a huge roll in there team and a danger man, if you can keep him to 5 that's a good day.

Yes, don't get excited, don't be ambitious, just meander along.
Get real mate. You can only beat what is put in front of you. Northern might fade, so might Paco, Tulla, anyone. They just might shock a lot of teams too. Hopefully people do keep writing us off, no skin off our noses.

We didn't write the draw and I'm sure we have had tough draws in the past, it all evens out in the end.

I'm certainly looking forward to both those games. Hopefully the old club will get up. :thumbsu:

As l have stated, the northern saints have a 8 wins they could pencil in.
That's a fair head start but that is the luck of the draw.
On any given day anyone can win, but it is a long season and flags aren't won in may!

And lets not forget that other teams also get to play these sides, so there are 4 wins "pencilled in" for them to. East Keilor have Roxy and Jacana twice with 14 teams and 17 rounds it will never be an even draw.

Also, going on 2010 form, would you have been so certain of those wins? Many people wouldn't have and not many tipped Northern to rise out of the bottom 5 this year. Hindsight is 20/20.

Still amazing to think the league had Northern and East Keilor heading for C Grade regardless of this years results.

I wouldn't of had Northern heading to C grade. East Keilor is a surprise.
Not knocking them, it's great to see all that hard work paying off on the field now. Northern have picked up some handy footballers of late to top up there list from last year.

How long are randello and power out for?

Pacco decimated with injury the last 3-4 weeks. should get 9-10 of the starting 22 players back shortly after the break and be full steam ahead from there.

just on the northern saints full credit to them doing well. as we all know the 2nd half of the season will be there big test. would be good to see them making the finals for the first time in the clubs history ???? all the best :thumbsu:

The Club has fantastic people behind the scenes some of the things I have seen at the club with their willingness to help players to make the club a place people want to be around is amazing.... They work tirelessly for the club it's players and supporters.... People that have been at north coburg/ st olivers and fawkner park/ fawkner amateurs for over twenty years through the really bad times
