Your post didn’t make sense to start with but now if you are referring to 2020 then you are saying Roxy are finishing last and shouldn’t get to stay up, is that your meaning ? If so bit disrespectful as who knows what lists sides are going to end up with , agree it will be difficult for them but not impossible.
Whoever comes last should go down in my opinion and the top two div 2 sides come up but that is open to conjecture, I believe Westy got a free hit as you suggest a few years ago and they ended up doing pretty well after it so either way can work.
I also think it is up to an incoming club to get the best deal they can that fits there club so yes you would expect a StAlbans, Sunshine to come into Div 1 but for instance what would you do with a Caroline Springs who play A Grade . Div 1 or Div 2? Each case on its merit and Sunbury are playing in the right division considering there last couple of years in my opinion .

There 18.5 age group was not dominant either so interesting thus far..Plus looks like they are happy with their list from last year. Some of there group is going to struggle in a strong div1 season ahead. I think div1 will be stronger than last season and that spells trouble for them in my opinion.

I think this was all more or less as a result of the Herald Sun article, where Roxy suggested they were going to struggle, albeit while still having a rack, and also said that they believed they would get the opportunity to stay up in 2020 (For the reasons listed) if the League changes to 10-10-8

Fair enough hadn’t read that , would be surprised if the EDFL would allow that as Div 2 is starting to become competitive, they should give opportunity to as many clubs as possible to improve the grade they play in,some will succeed others won’t .

Agree, looks to be a very competitive season coming up. Both Sunbury's will be toward the pointy end, Moonee Valley will back themselves to play Finals, Jacana will surely be a strong side dropping down, hell, Burnside could even be big improvers after putting clearances in for about 18-20 blokes, so should be a good year.

It what universe does anyone agree with EK paying their recruit from the NFL(midfielder/forward, averages 13 possessions per game over the past 4 years) $1500 a game?
Crazy stuff.. Nothing against the player .. and EK can do what they want but surely this must be the most ridiculous thing to happen in a long time.

1.Extra points for clubs that maybe struggling , dont have 17s,19s, have no local schools to ensure junior catchment or their board are just straight out terrible and need a leg up to try to even out our competitions, theirs 100s of reasons and the board will listen to them all
2. Overage kids playing in the incorrect age level depending on their mental capacity or seasons statistic levels
3.A junior club that has been expanded regardless of the surrounding 9 clubs concerns of player participation in the northern area and the meeting of those clubs with the EDFL which had a unanimous agreement of no more expansion for this club. Direct and intentional attack on the surrounding clubs with total disregard of those clubs future
4.Reduction of the points and salary cap for ongoing seasons of 2020,2021 & 2022, talk with AFL VIC underway
5. Complete and total lack of understanding that they (the board members) are answerable to the 27 clubs and that the board are responsible and duty bound to follow the instructions of the clubs, if the board believes they have full power to make decisions at the expense of the clubs we can only wait until the poked bear stands up

So they are going to take juniors from WRFL and u19's to seniors from the VAFA. Knowing there is hatred for St Bernards from looking at the VAFA pages, I am sure they don't mind.
