Fev playing on no.2 defenders in C grade, if they can the ball in enough they might be competitive next year

That’s a massive signing. His a premier standard footballer playing C grade footy. Could even kick more than 100.

Agree with you Vlo, I think after next season they’re in trouble knowing these guys who have signed won’t be in it for the long haul or won’t have that true connection to the club. They won’t go another year undefeated that’s for sure and don’t have many other options.. top 4 might be a stretch but who knows. How do they fit everyone in on points.. most are 4 pointers??? Does that mean half the side will be the players from this year who weren’t up to senior footy??? Interest to know. Paying big bucks hope it doesn’t bite. Not the true way to build long term success with breeding youth, but could pay off who knows. Few other sides will take some catching first
All their recruits are signing for 2 years. They won’t be a one year wonder. Their new coach has a vision and is being supported by the Club, he’s had good success wherever he’s been.

Agree the coach is a ripper, I’m surprised by the negative comments. They have picked up a player who will get them air time in Fev and will have contacts and also recruited an x-afl player who can work with the young players who are at the club.
Surely people are not saying they should have kept going as they were without making change and go with the Groundhog Day approach?
They have an energetic committee, strong coaching and assistants. Good on them for having a crack I respect people who take on the hard jobs I hope they go well.

Whats the go with Westmeadows every clearance they have submitted has been declined!
Is this a financial issue with the league (as in deny all clearances until overdues are paid?)

Not sure if that is the reason, but it seems fair if they aren’t financial or at least have a payment plan with the league

EDFL Rules
30.3 All Affiliated Clubs’ accounts must be finalised by 31 October in each year.
30.4 Any Affiliated Club that has not paid all debts due to the League by;
(a) October 31 will, not be permitted to register new players until all debts have been paid or where the Board determines otherwise;
(b) February 15 will, at the discretion of the Board, have four premiership points deducted from each team of the Affiliated Club entered in the competitions conducted by the League in the football season following the season the debts were incurred in

westy up to their old tricks so if they don't pay and the transfers don't go through what happens to the players ?
Why did the EDFL allow them to play for points and ultimately finals in 2024 if they were unfinancial?

I’m hearing big big trouble brewing down at Westmeadows…EDFL furious they’re still owed money yet club openly recruiting players, flaunting it on social media and splashing the cash. Rival clubs have been angry for some time that they have got away with it and been allowed to play for points.
The root of Westmeadows problems is now an EDFL board member. Under his reign Westmeadows had 2 of the biggest attended games in the history of the EDFL and they made zero money or the money went missing.
