Any news on how the EDFL meeting regarding C Grade went last night? Was there and outcome?

C grade is here to stay. lts not a bad thing for the edfl but l hope they have done there homework. Roxburgh Park and Jacana gave it a huge push and suprisingly the Valley didnt want it but not sure why. Edfl have been informed KP will field a side which is great news for them. They didnt say when fixture will be realesed which sort of says they still have problems.

Hope they sort it out so we can focus on the footy.
Any news on new recruits other than the mighty Airport West?????

digger24; What is happening at Tullamarine? Maybe Product2 can fill us in. I heard this morning that Danny Rajab and Johnny Bok have both left to Marby Park i think.. Also Jamie Laverde and Mo Allouche to Yarraville with Harmes and Dorazio. and that Mick Egan is no certainty to stay ?? Good that they are recruiting but you dont want to lose too many as all you do is replace and not add and build[/quote said:
Sorry guys just got back,
Digger, I heard 14 players have departed from Tulla, is this right??
If so this is a big loss at any club.
May be the committee should talk to some of their senior players during the season to see that all is well with the coaching staff before they reappoint them??
Can't see them in the top four, five spot for me.
Maybe Product2 can shed same light on this matter above??

Have also heard the same thing, don't know if it is true 100% but Tulla in trouble before 2012

Tulla have been a very strong club for some time now... They'll be ok... Always able to attract quality players

Even if they have a lean 2012... I'd expect them to bounce back pretty quick

Re :)New Teams B Grade 2012
-There are no Junior teams only currently playing in EDFL.
-The EDFL I think would not even consider a senior team to enter B-Grade without a full book of juniors as a 1 club policy.
-The EDFL would consider a junior club to enter if they are in a growth area eg Rolling Meadows, Caroline Springs and as per what they allowed Roxy & Hillside to do was guarantee entry of Seniors after say 4-6 years.
-The facility and playing ground also comes into question of any new potential clubs.
-Also track record of trouble on and off field & financial guarantees.
-Lets just see if the EDFL stick to what they have as their current criteria or move the goal posts to suit their agenda ??? ???

A heads up on RollingMeadows / Now East Sunbury...... Well the club itself and the EDFL have moved on this prematurely. We talk growth and but people are leaving the club .The club was very, very uncompetative even in the lower divisions of the RDFL ,and as it stands right now the move into a better competition will see them get flogged in season 2012. They will struggle to even field teams in the U16 & 18 divisions as they dont have enough junior players at the club. They have promised the EDFL the world and will not deliver and they will be embarrassing. As for the ridiculous statement from the club in the local paper to say " that they will have seniors in 2013 " there isnt even enough senior footballers around in Sunbury to field another senior team. All of the other senior teams in Sunbury struggle to field there own reserve teams so it will not work and as far as the 4-6 year window goes to have a senior team in EDFL goes ......impossible and that is a FACT.The locals dont rate the club at all and it's not run very well that's why no players will go there , It only attracts players that cant get a kick at the other 4 clubs in Sunbury and with that you get knowhere combined with the dud culture its in a sad state.

People used to say the same thing about sunbury rovers/ kangaroos... Rovers was actually started for guys that couldn't get a game for sunbury lions or rupertswood... Took rovers a long time to be respected/competitive.

All clubs take time to grow... Sydenham or roxy still haven't made senior finals since joining the senior comp

Not sure why people would be leaving the club when the majority of Members voted for joining the edfl

Lol Why would people leave due to a change that they voted on to make happen?
Cultures can be turned around, look at Marby a couple of years ago no one wanted to play there either at senior or junior level. Now in a few years after some hard work they're one of the better clubs in local footy and are having an increasing number of players making rep sides.
Greenvale has no trouble fielding sides and it is a reasonably small suburb by comparison but people want to play there. It's up to the club to change the perception of themselves and to make it a place where kids want to go. Well placed advertising can go a long way in this regard as kids generally want to play with their mates.

The hard work helped no doubt, but $ is the only reason they are where they are. That is a fact.

Marby will be back in b grade soon enough... Was good having another side to compete against the same old A grade super teams of greenvale keilor and strathmore

At senior level perhaps but at junior level it doesn't count for much. Money doesn't make 12/13/14 y.o's play footy..

It attracts people to the club.
If a club is winning then parents bring their kids there. So it does have some influence.

I'm not bagging them or anything, but lets call a spade a spade.

Totally agree, winning does attract people to clubs. Parents see this just as much as the kids do , you dont want your child playing at a club that continually gets flogged week after week , you dont mind losing from time to time however you at least need to be competative.

Successful clubs have football people involved running them and unfortunaltley Rollingmeadows/East Sunbury do not have that and they have some big problems ahead of them ....... this will be noted when you see the scores in the upcoming season 2012.

Have heard a few things around the traps.
Everyone is saying KP in massive trouble on and off field, Jacana have struggled to get anyone to training, Roxy looking like they will be more competitive and Moonee Valley recruited around 10 decent players.
Everyone obviously knows about Airport West, any news on some other teams?

How soon do you predict maybe in the next 20 years!!!!!! Ha Ha.
Since your so smart why dont you tell us when?

Not many predicted they'd win an A Grade flag either, but the natural cycle of high paying clubs means they will drop eventually... Heard a few players are already getting 'haircuts'...

Your comments re Keilor Park are a real worry, add the fact that at this point they have a ground that has 20 Ton excavators working as we speak, no grass at all, exposed pipes and my guess is that the ground WILL NOT BE USABLE IN 2012 for training or playing? What would K/Park do for training lights in the winter if they can use their ground? Big set back in attracting people they need to field teams / coaches to make sure they survive. Is it true they proposed to defer entering teams in 2012 for their Seniors Reserves & U-18s or was this just a remour? Hope not the case and wish them all the best in their 2012 journey.

History says teams that buy flags usually fall back down pretty hard... When marby do come back down at least they'll be competitive due to their good junior program... Wasn't long ago marby didn't even have 14's or 16's

KP had over 30 senior players on the track tonight. Ground on track for home games early in the season. Has been some player turnover but that is typical of most clubs. The club is currently on track to field sides in all age groups for the first time in a few seasons.

Wasn't the ground resown just before the '09 season??

I'm a little concerned about how clubs like Roxy, Jacana, Moonee Valley and Keilor Pk are coming along. Does anyone know of the financial position of these clubs and numbers they've had at training? We all want a stong EDFL, not at the expense of existing clubs though.

Now your talking some sence, Marby will be very competitve for years to come, no club can keep winning premerships every year and yes they have a very good junior program with some very good young players coming up.:)

Jacana I heard are just rock bottom at the moment:thumbsdown:

Moonee Valley, well, I have heard rumours of players they have picked up.... one of those wait and see things

Roxy Park will be the big movers I believe, have heard they have had big numbers at there sessions and looking good under a new coach. Once again, a wait and see thing..:thumbsu:

Keilor Park......Who Knows!!! I didnt see this coming!! How far will they fall, if they do....

Tulla boys looking sharp as always. :) Had to mention that

Has anyone heard about Glenroy, Is Mr Whitnall enjoying himself there??
