So what are our thoughts at the half way mark?

Douttas and Craigieburn where I thought they'd be, although with positions reversed. Tulla have been the big surprise and certainly won't be relegated. Taylors Lakes probably the biggest disappointment so far. Hillside have been hurt with so many of their good 18 year olds playing TAC Cup. Oak Park and Westmeadows fighting it out with Tulla for the other two top 4 spots.

Glenroy have done well playing lots of youngsters and will come in to round 2 nice and fresh. Out of East Keilor and Hillside for relegation I think. Their round 11 game will probably be the decider.

I think you'll find that oak parks ruckman went off at the start of the 2nd quarter. Didn't return. It was probably a huge loss for them cause he was very dominate. Not sure who he is. Number 11 can anyone help out here
Rhys Bloomfield, ex Greenvale player. 2 or 3 time premiership winner in Premier division and also once in division 1. Had a stint at Port Melbourne in mid 2000's.

Great player once, but is over the hill. Barely moved when we played him, couldn't brush off tackles from blokes half his size.

Jason Cloke is another that's starting to show some wear, I've heard his lower back is cactus.

You'll find he played the whole game tulla full back didn't give him a sniff. Fletch did a hammy and jason was outstanding
He was off in the first qtr with concussion but really should not of went back on and played out the game.

wouldnt say cactus copped a heavy knock on the weekend early on before i got there dont think it was an ongoing thing mate. Mail is he may miss this week along with 3-4 others. They limped to the line in the end on the weekend unfortunately

With all due respect to the sides at the lower half of the ladder, I'd say both the Burners and Stars will rest players with niggles in the second half of the season to ensure comes finals time they have their best available lists to choose from. They play each other in 3 weeks time at Nippa Jordan oval so it will be interesting to see who does and doesn't play in that game.

And Dylan Ramsay did his chances of senior selection in round 1 no harm after a big pre season.
Not going to be playing any more games after walking out on the club.

I'd be pretty pissed off too if the club told me I'd be in the mix for a small forward spot in the seniors, and only getting one match. Especially after booting 10 in a game.

Ramsay will be a loss for EDS reserves who are fighting for a finals spot. He shouldn't be pissed off though, he had a crack preseason and gave himself every chance, just didn't play due to lack of ability!!

You don't kick 10 in any match by accident. The message from the coaches were that he was going to get his chance, and they went back on it. A couple of his mates there are a bit pissed about it too!

He kicked 10 against Tullamarine a very poor reserves side. Nice effort but don't get carried away! He got an opportunity against Westy and barely touched the ball. Can't fit 30 into 22 and EDS going pretty well. Anderson playing small forward role very well and few 18's plus a couple of 2's players well ahead of Ramsay. Not sure what the coaches told him but can't see how he could be upset. Wasn't he a 2's player at Glemroy in previous seasons ?

Agreed, can't hang your hat on one game. Dominate against lower sides doesn't give right of passage. Fail against higher sides is proof that they are not up to the rigours of the higher grade. Too many sooks these days who think they are better than they are and put themselves before the team.... Equal rubbish culture bye bye

**equals rubbish culture (for the English teachers)

Heard around the traps that Bloomfield is out for the year for Oak Park. Leaves a massive hole to fill in the ruck and forward for the Kangaroos. Can they make finals without him??

Massive round this week teams fighting for positions at the top and bottom end of the ladder can't wait

Shaping up as probably the best round of the season so far. Lots of good match-ups on offer for us fans.

Couldn't agree more isnt it great that as pure footy fans the bottom 4 sides will arguably produce the most conversation with the OP v's Westy next... You would think CB will get Tulla the other 3 games throw a coin in the air. For mine
CB-28
Westy -12
Glenroy -4
HS -9
All the best to all clubs
