EDFL Division 2 2016

Should be a play off between the Saints (who should never be getting relegated anyway) and whoever finishes runner up if that's the case.

I'd like a rule that clubs get two years in the division they're relegated into so they can't be relegated year after year and have the clubs spirit broken.

idea has merit

I understand the club (spoke to a committee person) is preparing for Div 2, although it would love to stay up. The fear is that some players could think that Div 2 is beneath them. Club will try and retain all players and because of good record behavior wise will hopefully entice new members and players. They have a decent group of U16's and a number of upcoming 18's some of whom have played Premier footy who the club hope will be the backbone of future success. So here's hoping they will keep the bulk of the seniors and get more onboard. I like their motto, good club first, success will follow.

Back to the action.
Great results for Roxy on the weekend. Snrs & ressies st8 through to GF & u18s into prelim this week. Nothing guaranteed , but giving ourselves every chance.
Would be great to have all 3 sides in the big dance.

Good signs for Roxy. They appear to be the best placed club to do well in the above division.

If they go up, will Roxy players take on the challenge of playing against better competition or all defect to Coburg Districts? :p

With the week off, looks like the 18s kids playing seniors will be getting a run with the 18s or is that against the rules? Correct me if im wrong.

Yes the u18 boys can go back and play, but would you risk an injury?

so who then gets relegated then ? or the grand final winner does not get promoted from the division below ? maybe try what the amateurs do bottom 2 go down a divison and 2 grand finalist go up a division

The ammo model is excellent, 2 up, 2 down. Would just make the EDFL that more interesting, and give those teams a bit of a taste and a chance. Things seem to change quickly, football, perhaps EDFL could be procative and make that change, given that we have 3 divs now...

Did I say proactive......and EDFL in the same sentence...ha, ha, ha.....

You couldn't drop Avondale from premier and replace them with either Tulla or Oak Park. Avondale of 2016 are still a decent side and would absolutely towel Craigieburn of 2016 however that point is irrelevant as CB base their recruiting on div1.

Rumours abound both GF teams will most likely go up with a a new team to enter div1 to eliminate the bye.
Hadfield in a lot of trouble and will struggle to continue.

Hadfield to possibly play div2 or they can't get up div2 will have the bye.
i beleive Hadfied are having a meeting on 1st september to discuss future of club for next year

There was nothing dangerous about ek last week against Roxy. Don't follow either club but can't see ek getting closer then 5 goals.
Agree B&W but there is nothing like GF pressure. History says Roxy don't cope with pressure but time will tell both sides might go up to div 1!!! So lets see how it goes well done to both clubs making the GF and its great for all volunteers from both teams who live the premiership dream for free lets not forget these people

Only 1 team will go up next year. Sunbury kangaroos will come into the Comp and slot into Divy 1 to make it 10, 10, 8. If Hadfield ask to go down then NS will stay in divy 1

The off season will certainly be interesting inside the walls of the EDFL. Certainly hearing the same about 10, 10, 8 but hadn't heard the Sunbury Kangaroos one. I haven't seen a little bit of RDFL footy so I'm probably not qualified to comment but saying that they are coming into a very competitive comp that is improving year after year it will be interesting to see how they go

We finished below them I hope that have the right to choose whether or not we drop down

Another long year in div 1 is not appealing to me

I think the idea will a great challenge for Northern(Fawkner) and if it helps Hadfield survive that's gotta be a good thing surely.

Are you saying a possible merger??

From what I have heard, Haddy are not looking to merge and if they are, would not consider Northern. Only heard this....I'm not sure whether Northern would look at it anyway as their juniors are in good shape in terms of numbers and generally have replenished the seniors and seconds with new players, most of whom will probably stay. The club will enjoy success given the youth it has even in the open age part of the club.

Yep fair enough

is there any truth behind the possible move by J.Young to Jacana? Would be a massive get for the jags if they could snare him
