I think you are a bit harsh on the above. I can understand where you are coming from with the U18's but i think you have used some bad examples.

Barnard is obviously ex AFL and his brother is playing there.
Quinn has come from WA to work in Melb
Harvey was ex VAFA then went to Box Hill VFL for a few years

They are hardly mercenarys

The Russian is spot on, Aussie Dude continually posts crap on this thread and most of the time he is bagging Strathmore. $25,000 for a sign on fee is just ridiculous. We are STILL waiting to hear who the unpaid players at the Mores are, a claim made by one Aussie Dude!

if clubs are going to pay recruits bucket loads of cash, the effect it has on the club is the clubs problem to deal with in years to come, how can you bag a player for taking the offer. no one in there right mind is going to say its ok, i dont want that money, give me less. if the club offers it, then you assume they know what there doing

I agree Boss. The comp is lucky enough to get these sorts of players and the Mores could accomodate for different reasons. Same with Luke Williams, he was going to play District (so why not Strathmore and why not in the EDFL).

If anything if I was a Strathmore recruiter (only personal opinion) I would of maybe only gone for 5-6 recruits and not 9-10 and given the 18's a bit more of a sniff. Especially, as they were Premiers in 2005.

What an awesome lin-up on paper. I think Winter, Holman, McKeon, J. Barnard, Little, Morrison, Carrol, Condon, Stevenson and maybe Mazzeo would be the only one's to hold their spots. And A-Train if he is there.

cheers buddy, nose is going well, dont even notice it anymore.

twins are having talks tonight, ramazan told me wed night on the phone that he was pretty keen to stay, so hanifi should too, unless there is any mishaps, which i doubt.

micklewaites trained again wed night i was told, pretty sure they will stay, both loving it down there, and seems to be some serious young talent down there. not sure but might be a more than a few young unhappy strathmore players training, but dont quote me on it.

oakers should be a fighting chance to sneak into 3rd or 4th, since spot number 1 has been pencilled in already

woods has joined j. casey in the eastern league, ramsay to stay at douttas, been told winter back to vfl, and rumor was that bangit was marby, and williams was strathmore, but not sure on those 2

Guys Strathmore paid a small fortune for Miles Quinn.

Quinn made no bones about it. He just wanted the money. Didn't want a job coz he already had one. He will be a gun. Greenvale interviewed him once but it was too late. Werribee were in negotiations for ages but it didn't work out. Axe wasn't happy

Paxman on 30k is laughable. He used to come to the club to watch his brother in law play when still playing with the Power. He is a fully qualified engineer at Ford just down the road so he can get to training quickly. Greenvale got him before anyone even know he moved back to Vic. He absolutely loves the club. Is Captain and does a power of work. If you knew him you would know how little money comes into his life. Is wife and kids are always there.

Spot on about Aloi Matty. He wanted to coach and learn off super and Pacco. That was the clincher
