I see DP prioritising Hill and Christofi over Smart based on the lodged transfers. EK only obligated to approve

Smart was a one year EK player… they have no bargaining power but if I was EK, a few sheets from DP will assist the club’s finances!

You have to play 3 seasons and minimum 40 games. According to the data listed online, he only played 2 years with Deer Park. Unless someone can clear this up that it is incorrect, then he is 5 points.

How long the player has been there is irrelevant, the rules state only 2 players from one club can be approved unless agreed. Maybe some of the bountiful sign on money could be used

They would surely have players in mind from this year that have point values attached to them that will not be in their best 22 to fit everyone else in.

Their team is looking seriously stacked though, with PV getting weaker too i can see DP finishing top 4 this year based on paper.

Deer Park have signed another home grown junior in Lachie Fitzgerald who spent time at Keilor and the Western Jets in 2024. Definitley is a one pointer

They've also signed Nick Ebinger who will be going around again with Williamstown in the VFL.

Nah just some of their seniors from last year will be playing ressies to make them competitive

You cant bring in all these points and not lose anyone, doesn't work that way.

But we do know DP do like to pay 2s players a fortune to play

Last game of 2024 DP played at 44 which becomes 34 if the same team is selected in 2025. However take out 6 players as I’m sure 6 new ones will come in brings them back to around 28. Given them 18 points to play with

There is 30 points. 24 not including the last two.

That round 18 team didn’t have Moloney or Mundy in it either there is another 6 points.

With no under 18s and certainly no reserves coming through I don’t think they’re a definite to fly up the ladder as there best team simply won’t play and they’re coming from a long way back. However I think there is 2 spots in the top 5 up for grabs.

Also no matter who they bring in and I’m sure all Deer Park people can agree the influence Scott greenhough had on the club and that midfield is irreplaceable

That is completely disregarding what other teams do with recruiting. Without quality juniors coming through, it is quite difficult to reach the top. Deer Park will have to ensure they aren’t losing players each year (who have to play 2s). Otherwise, their depth won’t be there if injuries come.

They were a fair way off it this year & the same issues will persist until they can develop a pipeline of 1 pointers & depth IMO.
EK & Pacco seem to have fallen away with their losses which will make it easier but clubs like Abers, APW & GV should be stronger too.
