Dumb question or dumb decision from Mick?
Change a winning side, someone gets dropped probably not for poor form. Holmes named best and you lose. Worked out well.

Either way it doesn’t matter, they finish top 2.
AB V Mores is a huge game as will determine who Keilor pay.
The 1st Semi is not where you want to be this season more than ever

I know I will cop flak but Abers will beat SM easy. Yes Pacco would be disappointed in missing finals with 12 wins most likely. They are clearly good enough just lost games they should have won..

It’s clearly between 3 sides as I honestly can’t see SM beating any of the other 3. However I’ve been wrong before. Haha.

Agree AB v Mores will determine who plays Keilor but I think you have left out the Jets. AB win and Jets beat EDS they finish 2nd and play Keilor. SM have to win to play Keilor as Jets will beat EDS so I see finals being 2nd semi K v GV and 1st semi AB v SM as AB will beat SM IMO.

Fair bit of interest at the bottom of the ladder in addition to the top with relegation not to be known until 5pm Saturday. WC losing by a lot to AH moved them to the bottom but the difference between them and EDS is marginal. No doubt the calculators will be out during the week and or on Saturday.

Anyone have any preference as to who they prefer to stay up?

The relegation looms as the most intriguing battle of next saturday afternoon. West Coburg need to make up about 20 points on EDS, presuming they both lose.

Obviously the whole of the bottom 4 are well behind the top 6. Long seasons ahead for those 4 next year with none of them fielding 19's, albeit Avondale playing most games up until the last 2-3 weeks. Personally, i think EDS are better equipped to make a fist of A Grade. They just need to get their house in order and not look for the quick fix as they previously had and mad a mess of. West Coburg for all their grit just dont seem to have the resources to compete at a high level anymore

Jets would need to win by 30 goals + to catch up on %

Your 100% correct, history shows WC have been up and down about 3 times in the last 10 years.
EDS will be far better next year.

Why the flack, I think your spot on SM won’t win another game in 2018.
Gotta love your loyalty, but Pacco clearly aren’t good enough.

You may be right about the Mores, although I’m hoping your prediction is as accurate as the one you made on 6th June when you said Mores would be 5 and 8. They’re currently 13 and 4, which is a surprise to me as well. Will be interesting on Saturday between Abers and Mores. Strathmore have to win to get double chance, whereas even if Abers win they probably won’t get to 2nd as Greenvale favourite to beat EDS. Keilor certainly in the box seat despite their loss to Greenvale last week.
Seems to me the Mores will be 5-8 shortly

Yeh, they’ve certainly done better than I thought, big tick to em.

Sick, what’s the story with Reimers and Ryan Allan? Don’t think Reimers has played since match against Keilor, and hasn’t managed many games at all this season. Also I don’t think Ryan Allan played last weekend. He’s also had an injury interrupted season. Both very important guns for Abers, and a vital part of any premiership tilt this season.

Tom Hislop must be due to return soon? You’re probably not going to give out any info, as Abers playing Strathmore this week. LOL.

I don’t have it to give mate LOL.
But Reimers played 2’s V Glenroy, but missed last Saturday.
I don’t think they’ll play him in the 1’s young blokes (Madden & Foster )doing really well. Then add Tom Hislop, Zac Hislop, Pound & Binns, they don’t need him.
The 2’s had a big win against Marby and play SM this week for finals spot.
Ryan Allan , no idea.

Thanks mate. I reckon Ryan Allan is a fantastic player, and they will certainly need him to match up on Galea. I saw the last match between Abers and Keilor. Allan was out injured, and Galea had a day out. Yes, in the matches I’ve seen Foster has been an excellent player. Tall, not slow and a very good kick.

Ruck could be a problem area though. Not fair on Courtney Johns to expect him to match it against the monsters Browne and De Luca. But I supposed that’s the way it panned out, with Mabon not playing.

Yeh, Allan is a gun, Mark Austin back on track, which is the biggest + for Johnsy to get relief and go forward, forgot Peters in previous post.

Stax, I’m not sure what happened at Strathmore but I can’t believe where they are at after seeing Pacco best them at Strathmore. Thought they were gone but a remarkable turn around which must be applauded..
Pacco only suffered 1 big loss which was at home against Strathmore but there losses at home to Marby & Greenvale were telling but they should have beat Abers in rd1. Oh well always next year I guess. Lol

Yes Turbo, they certainly turned their season around after round 5. Won 11 of their last 12, including in a stretch of 5 weeks, close wins over Abers and Marby, creditable loss to Keilor, and big away wins against Greenvale and Pacco. Bit lucky to sneak in against Avondale. Kicking a score has been an issue, although Helliwell has done well since being moved forward.

Will be an interesting final series. Keilor at their best will be extremely hard to beat. Don’t really have a weakness. Strong on ball division, gun full forward, and solid defence. Thought Pacco may have made it, in which case could have done some damage. Purely on paper, they probably had the strongest list. They belted both Strathmore and Greenvale earlier in the season, and Marby a few weeks ago. I suppose injuries played their part. There’s only so many absences you can cover.

Greenvale certainly got under Keilor’s skin on Saturday. Keilor very undisciplined giving away multiple 50m penalties.

I think the loss will hold them in good stead though.

You sound like an Essendon supporter!

I’ve alluded to this before Turbo but I cannot remember a more talented list of players missing finals in a local metro competition before . You know more than me but something must be wrong with the coaching setup or perhaps there’s too much interference from within the club . Give us your best unbiased view on what this club needs to succeed. Your club intrigues me and all I hear are excuses.

EDS to stay up so long as they can keep within 40 points of GV.

Have everything to play for. But so have GV, with the strong possibility of getting double chance. No doubt EDS will throw everything at it, there is no tomorrow. Will be constantly checking scores at Piranha Park at match between WC and Pacco.

Must admit after 7-8 rounds, most people, including myself and even those from EDS thought they were dead in the water, and wouldn’t win a game. They have certainly put in some really gutsy performances in 2nd half of the season. Would have thought it was all over last Saturday when WC were 4 goals up on Avondale at half time.

Without going through all the results, I think EDS have lost four games by less than ten points so yes they have done fairly well.

If I was the person in charge I would be absolutely fuming as a lot of effort has been put in by great club people to get where they are at. I could give you my thoughts but I would be pushing my luck going back there. Haha

I get it . IMO if Mick Mcguane was coaching Pacco they’d at least be top 4 and secondly Playing coaches generally don’t work these days .
