What a great Opportunity for new leadership and a new direction for the competition. With the CEO moving on, Bring in someone with fresh ideas and to engage the 3 seniors divisions with the Junior competition and Womens divisions - Maybe even split the role into 2 and have major performance targets and accountability. But, with the same board, are they game to step it up !! Good starting point would be to fix this Salary Cap & Points structure and then move onto some Random ASADA Testing throughout the season across all divisions- would be very interesting what pops up !!

BC great points those at edfl are disorganized to the point of being dysfunctional they need some fresh blood .
However with ASADA we need to keep those c**Kheads away from the game at suburban level who would pick up the cost of each test? they are not cheap .If i was just a park footballer picking up some pocket money playing footy and one of their perverts rolled up early in the morning at my residence and wanted to watch me piss in a cup i would tell him or her to truck off and go truck themselves and slam the door in their face and go back to bed

thanks Stax for thinking of me with your nomination but I’m no ones puppet as never liked hands up my back. 😂
However if asked I would seroiusly consider it depending on the salary package.. 😉😉😂
You’re the obvious choice Turbo. After all, there are no other candidates with your impressive qualifications, superb track record and standout resume. 😂😂🤣

It would only be a 3 club competition under Turbo.
The fixture would be easy to do.

Round 1
KP v Hillside
Pacco bye

No salary cap or point breaches would occur & all the players are in it for the love of the jumpers.

You can employ the best CEO in Australian business but until the board let him run the business with all his expertises our competition will struggle. Why bother employing someone for $100k if the voluntary board members tell him how to do his job. It don’t make sense.

Spot on PC this is exactly why most of us "commoners" believe this board needs the lemonade n sars...... the new board needs to have high level individuals and have a finance expert, operational expert, football expert, umpiring expert, compliance/legal expert who select a credible CEO then back that person to the hilt. The board are responsible for setting a clear and articulated vision for the competition for the next 5 -10 years. Once the vision is outlined the CEO and ops team set about putting the right people and systems in place to achieve such a vision. Unfortunately to date the boys club are clearly in it for themselves with no vision or plan and the current financial and operational state of the EDFL is evidence of their continual failures. From what i have heard clubs from the WRFL, RDFL want to join this competition i see that as an exciting time for the EDFL however these egotistical board bogans who parade around with an arrogance not seen in Collins St. Some advice for your next board meeting....Park your egos in the locker pre board meetings and collect on the way out your working for all of us..... Rant over

A lot of what you are saying I agree with, however wouldn’t the fact that clubs from other leagues want to join evidence that perhaps the board and the league are doing a good job?

I think teams wanting to enter the EDFL is more a reflection on the leagues they are wanting to leave. These teams wanting to enter are also within reasonable proximity to alot of teams

Agree DD. What we also do not know is the incentives that may be on offer for new teams entering the league.
Recent poor decisions sit squarely at the hands of the board.
Have the presidents got the intestinal fortitude to enact the clause in the constitution?

If the strategic plan is to grow the league, what is the problem with offering incentives for teams to join?

Oh yeah , use up the funds raised by the existing and original clubs of the EDFL competition to allow clubs from out of the EDFL area to enter the comp when the only reason they want to join is because they are an ordinary club or their comp is ordinary and they want a free ride.
Would the EDFL give back some funds to existing clubs if they asked , and if not , why give it to clubs we have no responsibility for.
Let them pay to get in.

If it benefits the league long term and the clubs in it, what is the problem? If there is no benefit to the league and existing clubs having these new clubs in then why would they bother? Growth for the sake of growth is stupid unless it actually has some form of benefit to the existing members.
Additionally I have never really understood why the EDFL has so much $ in bank, including assets. Why are they not investing everything back in, or reducing fees?

your not happy Donald D ? Your club must not happy with the EDFL ?

The quality of members that are on the board are very questionable. No one on the board has the financial back ground to address the loss made by the league in 2019 , there is a lack intellectual power , no apparent leader and a board made up of egos
Listening to some of the candidates speak before last year’s vote was embarrassing
The fact that a number of presidents rang and influenced the outcome of the vote, clubs that followed the lead now deserve the board they have

Business 101, invest to grow but make sure you have something kept in the bank. Agree with your invest comment but not everything

My comments are not based on "my" club whatsoever as i have no association with an EDFL anymore. My concerns are for the entire competition prem, div 1, div 2 and most importantly the juniors and women's football. I fear without proper governance and visionary management from the top who know's what the future holds for the generations to come. As an example with the enormous up take of women's football opportunity is now to build a fine respected competition.

A different topic , I find it strange and amazing the quantity of women transferring every year. They flood into clubs , and dictate to the club for reduced membership along with numerous other demands , but want equal rights and then do a runner 12 months later. Take a look at the clearances and the percentage of women’s clearances compared to men’s , its out of proportion.

Not sure how you control that, and if a large number of players both male and female are wanting to leave after only 1 year it probably says more about that clubs culture than anything else.

If you look at the majority of clearances put in for females, are actually juniors. Of the actual women's ones put in the last couple of days, most are either wanting to play at a higher division or going to a club that has a senior team.

Why don't they stay at their current club and be part of the first senior women's team?
Do the females have a point and salary cap?

Why don’t you or someone start a women’s page, if there is one already, ask there
