EDFL Premier Division 2016

Has anyone heard of the B & F results for clubs in the Premier Div? Marby held their presentation last Saturday.

Have any other clubs held theirs?

Yeah traditionally the last GF played in the state the day after the AFL GF but changed to a week earlier this year. I think Bill Burstin and the Sheldon boys would look good in Pacco jumpers just quietly. Newman is on the wrong side of 30 now and injury prone, but to get Lochie Smith you need to recruit his girlfriend first!!

Now your going to stir up this forum Silver. One of the Sheldon boys is doing well over in the US but I'm hoping to get him across one day. The other has commitments so won't be leaving the country. Ripping family!!
Billy is an interesting one. However pretty sure his contracted for another year.

No netball in EDFL footy, but we do have a women's footy team at Pacco.. Lol

Just stirring about Pacco Turbs old mate. Outside Albury in the OMFL Kyabram have the best side in country footy (apologies to Geelong footy league who I don't know much about) As I said in my original post EDFL premier side's recruiters ought to get there for a look.

I wonder if you club will continue to target younger players from premier clubs with the guarantee of senior games & match payments. Not sure that's the way forward as I think it would be best building your our junior system.

Holding onto players? Tullamarine rarely lose players to other edfl clubs, but we've happily taken a couple of young players from your club mate

Hey Johndoe, Pacco not letting much out of the bag just yet. I do know you need an accountant to add up the points and payments and the calculator went missing during the week so have to buy another one. To many players wanting in ATM.

Will let you know if I get confirmation... Maybe some announcements at Presentation night.

Clubs have to be a lot shrewder in who they target. Points and $ cap make it hard to bring in 6 - 7 players in the one hit (unless you lose quite a few). I'd suggest the clubs that finished in the top 7 last year would think they have the nucleus of a good base and would be targeting specific players where they feel they are deficient.

I did hear a couple of weeks ago that Keilor, Marby & Douttas were confident of re-signing the majority of their lists. They all obviously have to top up in different ways but i couldn't imagine that the $ cap or points would allow them to bring in 8 new players (unless they shed some). This will become the norm as there will now be more emphasis on retaining current lists. You'd imagine most clubs would be taking a similar route.

What you will also start to find is that clubs will now regain control from the players. Players will eventually find the offer to jump clubs will become less frequent and clubs will be back in the drivers seat as to what they offer players. The players will have less bargaining power - A lot less of "Club X down the road is offering me Y, you need to match it or i'm off"
