Luke Hitch a very classy player. Seen him play a few games and was impressed at every game I saw him. Positions himself well for a good kicking option and also goes and gets a hard ball for himself. I also agree that Joshua Rocco is another very talented player in the league who is just as good as Borg if not better. He's got that natural talent about him that when he plays you are just entertained by the skill that he persists. Then we also have our usually consist players Caluzzi, Rayner and Moustafa. Thought I'd also mention how disappointing it is about Caluzzi's injury and I hope he has a quick journey to recovery.

Is he taking further part in the state metro team - Caluzzi ?

As previously stated I'll await your post admitting my info was spot on. I'm not sure what your math is like but the carnival is 5 weeks away, injury is 6 weeks healing and possible 2 practice matches in between. Patience is a virtue sherrin4lyf.
BTW good luck to Ben on his recovery.
Mate, I will offer you a public apology when I see it for mine own.
Otherwise shut your trap, because I'm sure you've heard of players playing with an injury.

It seems a tragedy that the kid might miss an important carnival but why was he playing in the first place?? Prior posts talked of the metro boys being advised not to play?
Were the 4 points on offer against hillside that vital?
Maybe the management of the players needs to be looked at - I'm sure the other coaches would have loved to have had their metro players play all games - it has cost Abers at least 8 points but isn't junior footy all about development of the kids and not winning flags?

Totally agree with your comments Fevolution14. Very very valid point and something that should not be overlooked!

Maybe the kid just wants to play footy rather than watch it. I honestly don't know but shows how much respect Ben has for his teammate risking alot

Agree with your entire post. Maybe BigfootyEDFL and sherrin4lyf could answer these very relevant questions. I know the keilor coach was happy for hitch to sit out and didn't pressure him to play.

Interesting comment Sherrin4lyf. Hard one to know what is the right answer though in reality.
Did he need to play every game this season, when his team is doing so well.
It is a big carnival to miss and managing his body and risk is difficult.
Just think missing some home and away games to best ensure risk is lower would have been best for him and Rayner.
No right or wrong answer, all will have a different opinion, but a really good topic

I understand personally I wouldn't have played.
But the kid has balls to be able to play two hard fought out games on one weekend, I'm sure he'd assessed all the risks, so I'm guessing he has his head up, it is a very important carnival but it isn't the end of the world, hopefully he comes out bigger and better from this minor setback

"Risking a lot"
He has blown a huge opportunity because of his respect for his team mates. In my opinion he would have been named Captain of the Vic Metro side. I wonder if his coach will be asked to explain his duty of care? I really hope he gets another opportunity but will be up against it. Will be interesting to see if any other Vic Metro boys continue to play club football now.

The respect for team mates doesn't cut it for me - at the end of the day we are talking about 15 -16 year old boys who actually need some guidance and coaching - not always match day stuff - can't understand why if metro had provided that guidance you would go against that and play - maybe those around those players need to have a review of themselves

Don't think it will be a hard decision. And one reinforced by the metro team management

You would imagine they will stick with the one game per week type rule.
If they have a practice match - no Club footy, if no practice match on a weekend, club footy OK.
That will likely change to no club footy once team is fully completed.

congratulations to all the boys that were named in Vic side last night however I do believe there is still one more cut?
Here is hoping that all players, not just these named avoid injury and keep enjoying their footy.
Still wondering if Borgy blog was correct. I hope not.

Agree with you haveago. Congratulations to all the boys who have made the squad/team so far. All the best to the boys who got dropped off yesterday also.
Great great effort to have even made the squad and all boys should be really proud of themselves. Good luck to Ben and mo with their respective injuries.
