I honestly reckon Rhylee is abit overrated?
Also think his carried his dad's genes and is a bit of a sore loser, isn't as sportsmanlike as his fellow counterparts. I rate Bytel, Hazik and even Agius over him at this stage of the season
That's harsh - great players are competitors and hate losing - that's the bit that gives them the edge - take the competitor every time. He is well liked by his peers which says more than anything.

Best 5 bottom aged kids for me (in no real order)
Jack Bytel
Rylee West
Curtis Taylor (shame he is injured)
Tye Browning
Tristan Rudic

Finally something we agree on FastandLoose.

All of the boys mentioned on this thread so far are still developing and each have aspects of their game to work on. Each have the potential in my view to be exceptional footballers if they keep working hard.

I would think anyone personally mentioned so far are probably considered to be in the upper echelon of players in the league for their age group. Quite an achievement in itself to have people taking the time to talk and post about them.

I would rather support and encourage them to keep working toward being the best they can be.

Again good luck to all the boys this weekend.

My view on West and Bytel.

West is very aggressive player, contested gun. I don't think he will get much taller. At times his disposal is scrappy.

Bytel not as aggressive, skills are elite, still a good player at the clearances. Has the height and is a good mark as well.

The Grover as I don't recall seeing West play I cannot give an opinion. Bytel is certainly not over aggressive but in saying that no-one could question his courage. IMO tough has a lot to do with courage not being overly aggressive. You are also correct with marking ability.
It's looking like a good day for the boys to go out and put on a show. Good luck to everyone playing today

Was planning on going to EDS v west coburg game but unfortunately had to be elsewhere for family reasons. I spoke with a friend and by all accounts west coburg were very good today. EDS had quite a few out due to metro commitments. Looks like there might be 4 competitive teams now not just the big 3. Aberfeldie with more injuries today with almost full squad other than a few long term injuries. Comfortable win by Abers.

west coburg prove again that they will be a very hard team to stop, but EDS are going to be hard to beat they kept Caluzzi reassembly quiet, but rayner was let of the leesh he kicked 4 and had a amazing game but west coburg really took it to EDS and were leading at 3 quarter time. They were harder and a lot quicker but the last quarter the EDS guns really turned it on! But what a game

Any win against west coburg @ west coburg is always a good win. West coburg arnt a bad team they contested well. They beat both grand finalists last season at home but lost away comfortably. It will be interesting when eds Keilor play west on the big grounds!!

Absolutely agree, any win at west coburg ground is a good win. You may be right in implying that it may be different when they play keilor and eds away but right now IMO the top 4 is set.
My info that eds had a few out for metro game was incorrect according to the edfl website. Obviously the 2 guns played, which makes west coburg's effort even better.
Anyone aware what has gone seriously wrong with greenvale. They used to be a junior powerhouse!!

Credit where credit is due. West coburg out ran eds today.
Browning from craigieburn is dominating from all reports.

Awesome win by Craigieburn. Maybe the surprise packet of the season so far. Bad news with a Brock Chircop breaking his hip though. Probably the only way he can be slowed down.

And by the way FastandLoose of the boys I have personally seen play that you have taken issue with....Hitch, Bytel, Podhajski....I'd have them in my team any day.[/QUOTE

Did you actually read my posts? I rated Hitch and Bytel BOG in the last game and I said Podhajski had a poor last qtr where his direct opponents kicked all the goals. Hitch kneeing someone on the head took away from a great performance. Reasonable and measured assessment of what I saw during the game. Let's not make this bogger than it needs to be.

Went to west coburg v eds yesterday and all credit to w coburg. They had a real crack and will be hard to beat there all season. Cam Raynor was supreme, particularly in the air. His best game so far for new club and clearly B.O.G.. Caluzzi too, I thought very good. Set up at least 4 goals directly with his elite kicking on both sides in a low scoring slugfest and snagged an inspirational goal from the centre in the last when really needed.

Good to EDS being put under a bit of pressure. There will be some interesting games at West Coburg this season. Devastating news on Brock, hope he makes a fully and speedy recovery. Abers did have a few players missing before the game and had to get 2 or 3 u14 players to fill in. Tuan out with suspected broken arm and Gill out with shoulder. I make that about 7 serious injuries to Abers so far this season. Will reserve judgement on Craigieburn till I see them playing against the other top teams. Suspect Greenvale will go down as they've had it pretty hard so far and it won't really change against the top teams.

Fastandloose as you said in your last post, let's not make it bigger than it needs to be. You probably should remember these KIDS are 15/16 year olds playing for free. P.S make sure if you have a go at a kid (Daquino) about his spelling/grammar that you get everything right in your posts....but I promise I will not make this any bogger!! than it needs to be

Went to EDS V West Coburg
Personally thought West Coburg were great, but EDS talent was too good. Joshua Rocco ( West Coburg ) Cam Rayner ( EDS ) were both BOG today for me. West Coburg have a great bunch of players and are known as one of the top teams.

A remarkable game at Shore Reserve.
I do agree with the above posts West Coburg will definitely be hard to beat at their home, unsure about where their fitness is at though as douttas piled on 5 last quarter goals to 1 in a low scoring affair.
Cam Rayner was sensational. Thought Ben Caluzzi, James Scully, Chad Sir and Liam McBride played pretty decent games as well. Matt Borg and Josh Rocco from West Coburg impressive as usual
Also well done to Seb #3 from douttas on his 100th game, he is a lesser known player but got quite a bit of talent, probably hasn't impacted the season as much as he'd like so far but still a quality player.
There was a melee close to the WC bench but it all cleared up and the boys got on with the game in good spirit. Well done to both sides.

Sounds like it was a great game wish I could have been there to see it for myself. Looking at the west coburg team sheet though it seems they were missing Anthony daquino still who is a very talented player and I'm guessing would play as there key forward. Not sure if he is injured or away somewhere but he would definitely be regarded as one of their best based on watching him play in the firsts last year. Seems eds class just overrun them in the end but good heart shown by coburg to be leading at three quarter time. Eds seem to be favourites for premiership at the moment.

Anthony daquino out for the past 3 weeks with a broken nose should be back in the next week or two

Who are the 7 injured abers boys?
Seems like abers Keilor and douttas have plenty of injuries at the moment.... Battle of depth!!

Good luck to Rayner Caluzzi balta hitch and anyone else I've missed playing for Victoria this Saturday!

All, really enjoy reading your post's regarding this competition and would like to join in and add my thoughts.
EDS look terrific, Keilor slow start, have had hardest draw with the top 3 teams on ladder to start the season, well placed. Abers certainly got stronger than two years ago, Craigieburn strong against the bottom 3, but will struggle against the top 4. West Coburg strong at home and continue to struggle on the bigger grounds but like the way they compete. Can't comment on Hillside or Greenvale, but Strathmore playing 13-14 bottom age boys and will get better and setting themselves up well for 2016. Will be interesting to see what changes occur tomorrow with Round 5 fixture as to will anyone go down and more importantly is their in team in Div 2 that will want to come up and compete in Div 1?
