Thanks, I'm hoping they at least keep two of the first rounders and I agree Tanner Bruhn and Oliver Henry look quite goodGet back to me after the trade period as you may trade all your high picks away haha But seriously I think this is a great year to look at local talent with a few nice players from Geelong Falcons to look out for.
I’ll have notes out from Game 2 of the WA All-Stars our tonight or tomorrow but before that I want address the game of Denver Grainger-Barras.
It’s was great to see that recruiters wanted to send him forward and even better that he also had an impact forward aswell. DGB is more than a key defender which is why he should be in discussion in the top 5, with his athleticism, talent and competitiveness I believe he could play a large range of roles and honestly think he could even play midfield if developed for that role.
I thought I had a clear top 4 but DGB has worked his way into that conversation, his potential is huge and he has the required combative traits to be a real big player in finals.
I too am thinking he is in mix in top 5. All traits Hamish likes. Maybe draft as potential forward Back swingman
Will Phillips dropping to #5 perhaps? If both Sydney and Hawks need a big man. You'd think Sydney and Hawks will be all over him
He's a known quantity so you take that a bit earlier then required in a draft like this
I currently have Brand in the 40s and Eyre in the 60s. That could change if we somehow get an All-Stars game late next month. At the very least I’ll be keen to see how much they have improved their physical testing in iso when they do hold a combine.eDPS where do Brand and Eyre sit pick-wise old mate?

Yep they certainly do, identifies by many scouts at the end of last year which earned them academy selection for the AFL. Harrison Jones for example missed out on academy selection going into his draft year so safe to say a full year could have really enhanced their stocks as key position players usually emerge late.Do they have AFL talent?
I though he deserved to win bog honours but honestly don’t like his chances taking the next step to AFL. Feel he will be a SANFL League prospect going forward.Nathan Hearing dominant yesterday around the ball, really shown a bit late in the season. I've noticed Draft Central's Tom Wyman's always rated him. Thoughts?
Did well, kicked 3 goals iirc and took some very impressive marks, went missing for a few quarters after killing it in the first. How did young EF forward Jack Williams go in the 2nd WA all stars game on Sat?
Would you still not want him at pick 9 for Essendon like you said a few weeks ago in my phantom draft?I’ll have notes out from Game 2 of the WA All-Stars our tonight or tomorrow but before that I want address the game of Denver Grainger-Barras.

I was more referring to the type of player that he is and that was more than a few week ago more like two months ago haha honestly id pick him up and play him in a different position or even just move someone like Francis forward. You weren’t wrong though as Essendon would likely jump at the chance if he lasted that late.Would you still not want him at pick 9 for Essendon like you said a few weeks ago in my phantom draft?
I believe so, have those two with a resting ruckman would make a difficult for teams in the air as both are amongst the best contested marks in this crop. Baldwin is a bit more athletic but who knows what two ACL’s have done to his mobility.Would the combination of Baldwin and Callow work in the same forward line?
Sumich talking up Finn Gorringe and Nick Martin?I believe so, have those two with a resting ruckman would make a difficult for teams in the air as both are amongst the best contested marks in this crop. Baldwin is a bit more athletic but who knows what two ACL’s have done to his mobility.
Surely chances of a Victorian game or two must be shortening. VCE the biggest hurdle now it appears.
Martin I think is the better chance but neither look likely to be picked up this year imoSumich talking up Finn Gorringe and Nick Martin?
Thoughts?
School is an issue as there is a black out period for a month (week leading up to and 3 weeks of exams) where they aren’t meant to have any football commitments, clubs can’t make contact with kids either. Presuming the metro combine will be in a week or 2 before they start exams. Doubt they make them play games a week or 2 before the draft off zero training.I wouldn't have thought school would be a big issue.
We aren't talking a TAC Cup season or a final series or National Championships.
We are talking a couple of games on a weekend with very little training, ala some intra clubs.
Very unlikely to be Metro vs Country anyway, regional Vic is still cut off from metro and probably likely to be like that until around December.
So travel shouldn't be an issue for these kids.
