I think Aker enjoyed getting boo'ed.

Jesus, Rocca can still kick it can't he?

Didn't realise Treadrae was playing, Fitzy easily scored, the horribly bias commentating and ads showed me why I hate Channel 9 so much.

I'm glad Aker played and tried. Because if he didn't you'd have a bunch of washed up, overweight guys running around hardly hitting a target or being able to run 50m.

loved Aker pressuring the ball handlers all game. Used to see him in East Keilor a bit, nice bloke.

Best Legends match yet I reckon. Surely I wasn't the only one who stood up when Rocca and Hutchie kicked their goals? Sensational stuff. Decent viewing to be stoned over.

Gee, Crawf can still run haha. Wondering why he was playing for the Vics? He's from Finley!

Had the jets on something shocking coming onto the ground! But I guess he would have looked quick running around with those blokes!

All the quarters ran over, all stars should've won. Fitzy's goal on the siren and celebration was my favourite moment! Followed by Hutchy's goal (still think he's a toss), Rocca's goal, and Martyn flooring Carey.

just watched the first half, a good bit of fun watching these guys canter around

one thing though, wtf is with the midget that keeps running on the field?

why?

Crowd went nuts when hutchy kicked that goal. I was at the game and honestly couldn't tell whether fitzy's goal was in time or not. Definitely Vic biased, but it's for a great cause and they are just trying to please the crowd. Aker was a toss, loved it when he was caught with the ball. We already know you can play Aker! (2002 GF :( )

Entertaining game.

Highlight was no doubt Hutchy pulling that goal out his backside. :thumbsu:
Was impressed with his post-match interview as well... I always had him down as a smug and arrogant **** but he actually seemed like a decent bloke at the end there...

Sautner did pretty well. I'm glad that they acknowledged him as the highest VFL/VFA goal scorer in history which is a hell of a thing to achieve.

Was i the only one who was impressed with Nick Steven's rig. Was a shoe in to balloon out.

And played pretty well too.

Anyway, someone has Youtubed the "goal controversy".
Sorry to disagree with 90% of people on this thread, but after watching it 10 times I have to say that it wasn't a goal.

There is a split second before the he kicks the ball where the siren goes and he still has the ball in his hand.

Not that it really matters, but clarification is always good. Funny as game and a great night for a great cause :D:thumbsu:

just got back, ripper night.

To be fair, I did think thatnthe goal was after the siren. That was my initial reaction anyway.

Loved Hutchy, loved the half-time booing during the Collingwood song, loved the two streakers dodge and weave through the endless security.

Solid value on what would be a, usually, boring tuesday night.

great entertainment, and i agree that it was one of the better EJ Whitten games for years. I think it has a lot to do with the fact their were less token media personalities on the ground. Didnt care that Russell Gilbert, Hamish and Andy werent there.

The game needs more Capper and Billy Brownless though :)

The goal kicked was a tenth of a second after the siren. Imagine the controversy if that happened in a GF.

I wonder if there's anything specific in the rules about it. I think he was in the act of kicking as the siren went, but boot to ball was a fraction after.

The kick-off would've been a great way to settle it. It seemed a bit out of spirit to disallow it considering none of the match was officiated to that level of scrutiny prior to that.
