I’d love to give this game a go but these types just aren’t for me, tried getting into Dark Souls, couldn’t, same with Bloodborne & Sekiro, also don’t really have the patience to be going at a boss for ages and ages.

Does anyone know if the adventure guide that comes with the pre-order will be accessible on devices other than the one you pre-ordered on?

Pre-ordered on ps4 and it looks like its just a separate app. It'd be nice if they gave you a code to access it on mobile so you can use it while playing.

Same. Maybe wait until it is cheap and give it a whirl. If you don't like it then you haven't wasted your money. I'm kind of tempted to give this one a shot though.

I think the steam preload starts a few days before release, might beat the bandwidth rush. Hype rising
Gonna buy a new controller too, I think my current one may end up suddenly not working soon...

I am the same. These games look so good and epic but I can justify $100 on something that I know I won’t be able to finish. When I was a trophy hunter, I actually avoided games that were very hard, looking at trophy guides, that I never felt confident getting the Platinum for (I know, stupid right?). Since 2014 I stopped collecting trophies and will now play any game I like on whatever difficulty setting I want to play on.

But these games sound absolutely brutal without a setting to change the difficulty. Maybe one day on sale but not at full price.

Just on the trophy thing, finally ignoring them was so liberating. They never influenced the games I played but the first thing I'd do would be to check a trophy game which influenced the way I played a game instead of just enjoying it. Now I only go through the trophy guide when I'm done to see if it's achievable. I could have got the platinum for Dying Light 2 with a bit more grinding and a quick new game to get an early bugged story trophy to pop, but in the end I couldn't be bothered. I only had this mentality while playing PlayStation due to wanting to increase my platinum count. On PC and Xbox I really don't care about achievement scores. I'm glad I finally shed that habit on PlayStation now too.

Maybe not at full price but I'd still recommend giving these games a go if you think they even just look interesting. There is definitely a wall you have to break through but they're no different from the kinds of games we played in the 90s where games would get progressively harder as you made it to the next level. Souls games just require you to learn the game. I'd argue that Nioh is harder as those games require more twitch reflexes and has more moments that simply troll you.

Same here, mate. I found myself playing the same game for weeks on end to after the main story to achieve the Platinum before moving onto the next, even if I wasn’t having fun. And the types of games I would avoid are now some of my favourites (namely Metal Gear Solid).

Thanks for this mate. I am not in such a rush to go out and play Elden Ring as I have some other games on the back burner but someday. :)

Probably warrior because I'm really boring and always play the most cookie cutter builds.
I would usually pick a class like that but it has an extra 2 points in arcane compared to the Vagabond. I have a feeling arcane will be Elden Rings junk stat. Mostly useless outside of a few specific builds.

my fiance tested positive on monday so i am actually stuck in iso. problem is i have my work laptop and im not actually sick so friday will be even worse knowing the ps5 is about 5m away

Shame about your laptop not working on Friday.

it's soooo good! Can't believe I'd never had a crack before now. I have been loving it so much. I've just started NG+ and it's hilarious how much better you are at the game second time round when you get the mechanics! (Although it doesn't hurt having a much bigger health bar, and all the skills etc). After Demon's Souls and now Sekiro I'm so excited to play a Soulsbourne game at initial release for the first time ever!
Good man Lance!

I've never had a smug grin wiped off my face harder than 10 seconds after that monkey boss fight lol

Stonking games these.
