Should we offer Priddis a 2018 contract? Cotton wool for 23 rounds and then unleash the curls?
Don't think Ken knows who he is, never seems to do anything about stopping his influence.

Actually, it does.
No it doesn't, shrugging off a tackle is part of playing the game and so is sticking a proper tackle. May aswell count every behind as a goal then because the goal posts are placed too narrow and therefore forces some kicks to be behinds which might hurt the players and supporters feelings

Can imagine how shit you would be feeling but just need to suck it up

Nice try Champ :)
To play the best at years end you have to have at least beaten the best during the year...you failed
You smashed us, but beating bottom 4 teams wont win you a premiership will it?
Always next year camp :)
You are Carlton for ****s sake.

Not when the rule was changed this year to prevent that exact type of free.

Can't argue with that in general and tbh it shouldn't have mattered but when independent players like Jordan Lewis are openly saying its what the players were told was not a free kick it was a mistake not a howler but still wrong

could it be possible that Jacko has given the coaching staff a verbal 'what for' and they are keeping him out of the team due to something which isn't in the public arena?
Imagine being told that you're being kept out of a final because we're calling up Impey. I'm surprised Jacko didn't raze Alberton to a pile of smouldering ashes when selections were announced.

Hamish has never been soft it's a myth peddled by deadheads

Absolutely spot on.

Our criticism with Hamish is that he has more talent in his little finger than most AFL players have in total.

Just on Hamish, I think he has had a very solid year and is ready for a big 2018.

We need a revamp of our so called leadership group. How of many of them stood up when it counted last night. Certainly not Jonas. He was watching the game on the sidelines because of suspension.

Some of our kids are more deserving to be part of that group.

the rule is if the player turns a legal tackling into high contact by raising their arm, it's not a free kick. Rules against high contact are to protect player welfare, not to be manipulated by players to get a free possession. Not saying you shouldn't try to break a tackle, but if you manufacture high contact by doing it don't expect to be rewarded

Classic Selwood play that and the afl need to stamp it out. Start paying a free against the players that do it and watch it stop

Note: that decision is not the reason we lost

Impey's incompetence has locked in Jacko exiting the club

Impey had a shocker, no one would doubt that. But to say that the selection of Impey over Trengove is the difference between Trengove staying or going? That is a little to the extreme and something I would vehemently disagree with.

Jesus H they changed the rules on this at the beginning of the season to stop this exact thing from being paid. It specifically mentions shrugs, arm raises, ducking etc.

We cost ourselves the game by not kicking straight but that decision was objectively wrong according to the AFL's own definition.

What's with the poor starts lately anyway? 1 or 2 goals in every first quarter since the north game, that's about 6 or 7 games since we could manage 3 first quarter goals.

Its the final nail in the coffin.

Jacko playing, stops McGoven taking so many of those intercept marks, goes into ruck as Ryder is getting nullified and mixes things up, maybe Ryder takes a mark or two in the forward line and kicks a goal, or he goes down back and sits on Petrie for awhile and we win by 2pts and not lose by 2 pts, he gets another game in the SF and plays well in that and his bargaining position changes significantly compared to what it is today.

The coffin was shut a while ago mate. To believe otherwise would have been holding on to false hope more than anything.

Not it my world. If you believe playing LIMs in a final against a side that always plays lots of tall backs against us at Adelaide Oval and beats us every time was the correct way to go then of course you would think that way.

Just watched the "last 2 minutes" video the club so thoughtfully put up on the website for those of us who can never have too much misery. At the same time I read the club isn't going to seek an explanation for "that" free kick. On replay it is a disgrace, I can only assume the umpire didn't see the lifted arm - specifically the case the AFL had said would no longer draw a free kick.

Is it worth looking at the idea that umpires can send decisions like that upstairs if they are unsighted? Or a fourth umpire can overrule on video? Either way it's time to at least acknowledge that we don't accept everything that is thrown at us.

That said, if Wingard sends either of his two last minute kicks into Port hands, we win. C'est la vie....
