Looks like the top 4 are all safe and one of Goon, Dusties and Cora Lynn will miss the finals. It is possible for Goon to win all their remaining matches and still miss finals if results don't go their way.
 
Neerim looked awesome on the weekend, they are now my tip for the flag. Chris Urie is an absoloute freak. Best player in the comp imo.

Granted on recent results they look to be the second most in form team in the comp but from what I saw of the two sides they are a long way behind Garfield.
 
Nobody. All other finals clubs have an even spread. If Neerim were to lose Urie they would drop right down the ladder.
 
I may be a bit biased but I think the Goon will win all 3 of their games and the Cora Lynn vs Dusties game will decide who of those two makes it in the last round. From what i've seen this year Garfield, Cora Lynn and NNG are still the best 3 sides in the comp. Obviously Garfield are red-hot faves but if they don't win it, one of the other two will.
 
Urie is ten times the player he was 2 years ago. I've always been critical of the way he played behind the footy to get all his kicks. The penny seems to have dropped with him now and he's pushing forward a lot harder, and has become the most dangerous and the best player in the competition. His game against NNG was phenomonal.

Tye Holland should perhaps follow his lead.
 
Dead serious Surkin, but can only go off what i have seen of both clubs neerim seemed to me to be better then any of the clubs that have flogged us this year.
 
I just wanna say I think the league should have an award for best first year player or best under 21 or something presented on the same night as b&f and goalkicking.. I just think it would be a great way to recognize the up and comers.. If they did who would be your pick for the award.. I think Tom Keily from Catani has been a standout in an average team, or maybe Aidan brown kicking goals for langy. But yeh Tom Keily for me he is a big bodied young fella with great disposal by foot, can take a big clunk, but rumours are out that that he has been approached by Casey scorpions for a pre season tryout. Goodluck to him but it would be a shame not to be able to watch him anymore!!
 
i think they do have an award dont they?? not sure on the age group but i think the young (eg under 18). player that gets most votes in the Senior league count gets something. could be wrong tho.

Doe's yesterday result put a end to the Goons finals hope Tumble or can the goon still make?I went and watch and it was a great game not much between the two team's all day.I liked Jake Allens game he is my pick for the league b and f i don't think he has been out of Corra Lynns best for the last 10 weeks.The c-l ground was stuffed and they haven't put in for a final,which i think is good by the club they know the gound will not recover in time for the finals so that give's another club to host the granny.From reports i got the gound will be ripped up and the same turf Pakenham got will be laid.
 
Pretty much spot on 37. The award is the Arthur Pollard medal and is given to the leading vote getter in the senior count that is eligible to play in any junior grades.

Hey Kenny, I think C Lynn's ground problem is drainage/soil related and not so much a turf issue. It does not matter whats growing on top if the water is stagnant or not draining effectivly. But I think I see what your saying anyway. Drains, soil and turf to be redone from scratch(same as Paky)?

I think someone said earlier in the season that there was a concern with the ground and that due to the fact the Car day has become very popular, the worry was that the cars were compacting the surface. Would make sense to get it fixed if they could. Haven't seen the ground but cant believe it has gone to that extreme. Probably the best surface I played on in the last 20 years.

It's basically all over for the Goon now Kenny. They need the Dusties to lose to either Nyora or Buln Buln to be any chance. A shame really as although they've lost 7 games, none have been any more than 20 points. I still believe they are the 3rd best team in the comp and the teams in the finals will be relieved that the Goon didn't get there.

I reckon a Garfield vs Cora Lynn GF is now a certainty and wouldn't be surprised if Cora Lynn won it. They're a far better side than they were last year.

There ground must of held up alot better this year Tumbles?? We have put in for a final not sure if we will get one but our ground is still in great condition apart from the square which has held up alot better this year. Hows Garfields ground looking this year? There ground was the best by far that we played on last year. I still rate NNS and a big chance, they have beaten all other teams in the 6 except Garfield im pretty sure.

Only the wing on the changerooms side has any mud on it (no drains there, too much rock underneath). Ground in good condition but crap social/ changerooms, no parking (most of the reserve is too soft/wet to walk on), crap umpires rooms (not that this matters), crap canteen and would struggle to get enough voulunteers to help out.

But in saying that, all finals footy should be 'no questions asked' played on the best neutral ground available! Not mud heaps like we see every year.
 
NNG is a terrible ground to play on and watch from, shouldnt get the GF, always a mud heap come finals time.
CL is the best and if its not there it should be at warragul, i reckon since warragul has improved the last few years it should swap between those 2 grounds each year.

You been to Cora Lynn lately Leo? They didn't just decide to not nominate for finals for no reason.

I've just heard a whisper that NNG will be hosting the GF, never said it was the best ground in the world. One thing you can gaurantee is that they will do everything in the powers to make sure it's in the best condition possible on the day and will do a great job as hosts. If the weather isn't torrential leading up to the day, the surface of the ground and the outskirts will be fine and it will be a good day.
 
Nah i havent been there for a while but if CL is wet then NNG is normally not much better. I reckon warragul deserve it anyway.

I know ya cant know what the weather will do but I know it doesnt take much rain on friday night or sat morn for the goon to turn into a mud heap.

Cant change a GF but the league needs to toughen up and change finals when they know there is better grounds available. Darnum about 4 years and NNG the same year should never have hosted finals with the rain that was forecast. 2 grounds that just cant handle it.

surely they're takin the piss with this side! loughridge, newcombe, thwaites,saraikin, been a lean decade then. Ben dwyer unlucky?
 
Ben Dwyer hadn't played the 30 game minimum to be selected.

Wouldn't say it was a lean decade. Club made 3 Grand Finals in that time.
