This is a huge draft for Melbourne, Eagles and Dockers.

Having 3 picks inside the top 25 does not happen very often.

If the Eagles can add to their core group that they recruited last year, it could set the foundation for future success. (Obviously stating the obvious a little here).

You'd think so, but that's not true recently. Since they moved 'one poor year' priority to before the 2nd round (2006), 2 teams every year have had 3 picks inside the top 25. 2006 it was Carlton & Essendon, last year it was Melbourne & WC (WC actually had 4 picks) and then again Melbourne & WC this year. In the 2 years prior to the change 3 teams had 3 or more picks in the top 25, in 2005 collingwood had 4 picks each and hawthorn had 5 picks!

Every year's draft is important, i bet you next year the teams on the bottom they'll say that it's a "huge draft" because of the GC coming in the following year.

i wouldnt seek her out in a crowded room, but she goes alright.

So she has Hill going maybe at 3 or 4...but not actually in the top 10. Is that right?

Last year, if WC had taken Morton instead of Masten, Melbourne would have taken Grant and WB would have taken Rance @ 5.

Rance almost lasted until our next pick @ 19 (he went @ 18).

The year before we were considering Nathan Krakuour @ 11 but went for Everitt instead (who was rated a 3rd rounder on BF). Krakuour almost made it to our 3rd round pick!

Apparently Melbourne said to the dogs they would take Grant if Morton was gone.

I think Craig Cameron was quoted in Emma's book as saying he just said that on draft day to wind up Scotty Clayton. Don't think Grant was ever a chance to go at pick #4.

Here's her rough order, said she's still figuring it out, particularly the mid 1st round picks (names in brackets were other names she associated with the pick):

1. MEL - Watts
2. WCE - Naitanui
3. FRE - Rich (Hill, Vickery)
4. PTA - Vickery (Hartlett, Hill, Yarran)
5. ESS - Yarran (Rich, Hill)
6. CAR - Hurley (Trengove)
7. BRL - Ziebell (Hartlett, Sidebottom)
8. RIC - Hartlett (Vickery, Ziebell, Yarran)
9. KAN - Johnston (Lisle)
10. ADE - Davis (Trengove)

Some other stuff she said during the Q&A:

Cordy - fair deal
Banner - late to rookie pick
Barolli - rookie pick

Didn't know much about Dylan Ross, Andrew Duhau, Tom Gillies, Luke Delaney, Zac Pickett.

I cant see why she was talking about these boys? Especially Barolli who i havent heard much about? Why would they be talking about rookies?

Some plebs rung in and wanted to know about their friends and work colleagues sons etc. instead of asking her some half decent questions.
