The way I see it, a lot of free market conservatives were pro-stay, and a lot of trade unionists and classical liberals were pro-leave.

Seems to be along pretty blurry lines to me.

Ultimately if you chose to live in your bubble, you will see what you want to see though. Good luck.

You are completely correct. Immigration alone was never enough to win. Most of the Tory MPs agitating against the EU were because of sovereignty issues (see people like Hannan, Carswell, Boris, Gove, Redwood etc) And as you correctly pointed out plenty of trade unionists (and the top two in the labour party) were for leave.

People overlook the fact that Le Pen pere made it to the second round back in 2002 (around the anyway cbf googsing).

I suspect Marine ... Le Pen fille si vous voulez ... will win for the same reason that Trump won.

The left will not be able to drag itself to vote for Fillon and a good many may actually prefer Le Pen economically to Fillon.

Add to that the inevitably of more Daesh attacks before the election, and all the ingredients are there.

Le Froggos are another Bataclan away from throwing Algenrians in the river like they did in the 60s.

Yep. Lol at the French wanting to hear the truth.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/201...ce-marine-le-pen-winning-french-presidential/

François Fillon, a former prime minister who has promised to enact radical "Thatcherite" economic reforms in France, has won the presidential nomination for France's main conservative party after trouncing his more moderate rival at primaries on Sunday

"My approach has been understood: France can't bear its decline. It wants truth and it wants action,"

Benoit Hamon is an interesting candidate and has shot the Socialists into the top grouping, sitting narrowly at 4th and well ahead of 5th. Given Hollande's abismal approval rating this is doubly impressive.

If he can continue to improve he might prove an upset in the race, and would potentially be akin to what Sanders could've been in the US.

No to the EU and Islamification is ok

But globalisation is manufacturing by slaves for selling to the unemployed must have lost something in translation.

She will win and brexit is the greatest thing for the uk since ChurchillVictory2.jpg

The Uk had all the trade advantages of the Union and none of the monetary costs of being in the Eurozone.

Trade advantages - the UK runs a surplus with the rest of the world and a big deficit with Europe. Not only that but being in the EU means that the UK cant strike its own trade deals with other countries.

What has a deficit or surplus got to do with the advantages of trade? Trade brings cheaper products for consumers and greater revenues for producers regardless of whether a deficit or surplus occurs. A trade surplus or deficit is driven by the sign of the savings investment ratio which is a completely different topic.

Brexit should increase innovation and productivity gains as firms look to become more efficient against labour shortages; it will be a long-term effect and very good for Britain, but there will be short-term pain.
