I'll quote you for this question and anyone to answer.Being seen as fair and reasonable to deal with doesn't seem to have any benefits. No harm in being seen as being difficult by going to the draft - we just need to actually do it.
I think things will move on fairly quickly if we do it for 1 player. If we do it successfully for both, they'll be talking about it on trade radio for years for every Port target.
Great points you make here Geelong lose whatever negative deceptive scheme they cook up. They also lose in the integrity and fairness take also.If Esava walks into the draft Port may or may not pick him up (but we retain our pick). But one thing's for certain if that happens - Geelong get nothing. That's an emotional decision by Geelong not a rational one. Scott might think he can convince Esava to stay but after more than one year of trying the chances are pretty much zero.
I think this is still dragging on for the theatre of the last day of trading
Some progress? What progress? Nothing has changed.
Is Chris Davies wearing rouge or is just unhealthily ruddy?
We need people with hair
Yep. Honestly we could probably take him with 41 or later on draft night if we wanted to. No one is jumping in. I can't remember any club intercepting a player that has gone to the draft. Particularly when the club wasn't being unreasonable. Every other club would accept 25 is way more than fair, and I'm convinced in the spirit of good will would let him through to that pick. Meanwhile Geelong get nothing, for no reason other than being insanely and totally unjustifiably stubborn.I don't understand why anyone thinks this guy is worth 25, let alone more than 25 ...
