Sounds like only Essendon fans have seen Essendon's youngsters. Opposition supporters are just hoping Essendon languishes down the bottom... its rare as hens teeth, please note Geelong had the same number of victories in 2006 as Essendon did in 2007.

u r joking if u r comparing essendons 2006 wins and hoping for the same from Essendon in 07, we played finals in o4.05, o6 not sure what happ really but alot of things at the club were wrong, in 07 things changed but we have a well more balanced group then Essendon do, i just don't see much of a future for Ess considering the top tier are not getting better, rucks stocks are avgerage, midfield is a disgrace with no foot skills, most of the Ess people i know admit it will take a while to play finals again, u guys just dont have the list plain and simple and other clubs younsgters are way better then youres, as good as Sheedy may have been he really has left this club ibn a whole and the last 3 yrs are proof of that.

what the hell are we teaching our kids in school these days? this has to be the biggest slaughter of the English language i've seen on this site.

Essnedons kids r rubbish, no matter what facts u bring up i have seen them play and i dont rate any of them, if u guys do good for you, you will be disappointed

Your club went from shambles to riches in 1 season.
Supporters of other clubs don't, or don't want to, comprehend the fact that Essendon got rid of Sheedy because he wasn't bringing the best out of the players whereas a new coach would- that is Knights' plan.
The fact that we had off field issues at a time when we were likely to make the finals should give Essendon fans plenty of hope and expectation.
We were after all 7 wins 4 losses at the half-way mark, with such a young playing list, it is inevitable that towards the end of the season tiredness sets in, another pre-season under their belts will enable them to run a season out.
Gumbleton is a poor man's Hawkins? You are kidding yourself.

they dont teach thats the prob, when you start out as a numbnuts like della & then sit around typing out sms's all day, the end result is much of what we see on bf - the inability to communicate in any meaningful or constructive manner

Stanton is only a 2nd rate midfielder and will always be.As for Gumbleton and Ryder how can you rate them based on the limited games and experience they have had.Thats the problem with most of you Essendon supporters.You rate and talk up your young players highly before theyve hardly played a game
I agree with Stanton, will never be a top-line midfielder... and I don't care about his statistics being better or similar to Bartel's at the same stage of their careers!
Ryder will be a very competent roaming ruck when bulked up and given the opportunity... has little defensive skills and perhaps should only be played down back for his development.
There's no denying Gumbleton's potential, but you're right, little has been seen of him in the big time, that goes for a number of Essendon youngsters.
Now having said that, most opposition supporters label Essendon's youngsters the worst of any team in the competition, so my question is how come they can write off our youngsters from the limited games and experience they have had.
Seems to me while Essendon supporters are talking them up, non-Essendon supporters are talking them down... sounds like a double-standard to me!
