The Dark Side of the AFL : Season 19 Episode 16
Documentary of the dark side of footy continues this week featuring the horribly named Blood stained (nope) v The Blood stained Angels
Two sides soaked in controversy every time they play, with the last episode being no exception with the WTF pole mount by Rampe.
We delve deep into the history of these two clubs with some of the strangest finishes the AFL can dream up.
If the finish is close you can guarantee that it will be decided by something controversial usually involving our good mates in green.
The eyes have it
The jumpers actually look great against each other and from a purely visual point of view a Swans v Bombers match looks pretty good with the crowd also looking a treat with red everywhere and black and white throughout.
Major Outs
Buddy - The Bombers will be pleased as he has a decent record against them and it's one less game they can keep their bottoms from being ripped.
Bellchambers - Swans look to have Sinclair as an out due to a shoulder dislocation so Bellchambers not being available is big news however it doesn't guarantee relief for the Swans as their options to replace Sinclair are worse than Zac Clarke - Yep the Zac Clarke (I think he's ok but most Bomber fans say otherwise).
Major Ins
Stringer - If fit he will come in to the Bombers side and have a great game as he often does against us.
Swans unknown ruck option - Knoll ? or do they go with a mobile option in Alliir and mix it up across the field.
McVeigh - Sneaky chance but doubtful.
Recentish History
Hird goes easy on Dunks prior to the tribunal to try get him off but he still gets a suspension which gets put on hold until after the Grand Final.
McPhee kiks a ball from 37 meters outside the boundary
Allessio Kicks truly after the siren to win the game
Goodes misses after the siren Bombers take the win
Dempsey plays on and the siren goes before he gets a kick away handing the Swans the win after a massive comeback.
Goddard kicks in poorly,Papley smother then Rohan in the square for an after the siren win.
Sinclair kicks a bag to knock the Bombers out of the final
Rampe becomes a pole dancer no free kick awarded.
I'm probably forgetting about other controversies or finishes but these two teams just have that knack.
This preview should be a lot better but timing couldn't be worse with my baby and work so I'm going to succumb to a good start (consideringthe feedback for the photo) and peter out to a terrible end. Much like the Swans most likely.
Sooooooooo
Essendon by a few due to MCG and post climbing Karma.
Swans by a few if they can pressure the Bombers into early errors and somehow stop Saad's dash off halfback.
Final Prediction then if my arm is twisted - Swans by 4 points following a kick from outside the boundary that centers the ball to the goal square. Kick for goal after the siren misses initially but a Bombers player shakes the post during the kick allowing another kick for goal which goes through. Media talk about how Essendon were robbed for the next Month.
