You can't compare Brown to Zantuck.
Brown was already a top player? Zantuck? We'll see this year how good he is.

I wasn't comparing Brown to Zantuck.
You said I couldn't have an opinion on Zantuck because he hasn't played at Essendon yet.

You already labeled him a regular player in the team and he hasn't even played a game yet. You're getting to far ahead of yourself.
Just because he got few game for Richmond doesn't mean he'll be a regular for Essendon. Essendon's list is far superior ;)

I didn't label him a regular player. If you read my post's (which obviously is above you) I said Zantuck was a depth player.
Essendon's depth was questioned, I stated that not only did we have a key players out, but we also had a next lot of depth players (those 23-26 on our list) also missing.

What makes me laugh is how most Essendon supporters are listing Zantuck as a "missing" player. The guy struggled to hold down a senior position last year at a club that finished last. Wake up!!!!!

I dont think Essendon will struggle from a lack of depth as such. Their kids will come up... not all of em.... but they'll be good.

The major problem essendon has is that they dont have anyone to move the ball full stop. No fast, no slow, no skillfull. Therein lies their problem. Wellmans run off half back and Misitis (slow) ball carrying will be missed more than they think.

stanton and dyson look like they will be good, but not this year. If hird isnt in the middle who is winning the ball?????

Only a corky by the looks of things..

Interesting corky when nobody was near him. He has strained or torn his hamstring. You would think after 25 years of Sheedy you would know what a bulltish artist he is

Read what I said above. It's not that hard.

Peverill, Solomon, Jason Johnson.

OK, so we dont have two AFL teams ready to go. We miss our top four or five players when they are out. We miss Lloyd when he doesnt play and we miss Hird when he isnt on the field. Show me a team who doesnt?

Our success thius year relies on staying relatively injury free. Same as most teams I guess with the exception of Port who have an amazing level of depth thanks to being such an even team.

My point exactly Longy!

Peverill, Solomon, Jason Johnson??? Thats my point.. that doesnt cut it as a midfield dude. Were an average team but our midfield still comprises Campo, Stevens, Scotland, Kouta, Walker and thrown in a Sporn and others at times.

You just named 3 in-and under ball winners ... theyre not ball carriers. Thats whats lacking.

Write Essendon off at your own peril !!! Still a good team and fair dinkum one practice game aginst Carlton that HAD to win and its a joke people think they are gone. (And i hate em as much as anyone.)

Carlton would have beaten any team minus the players Essendon had out and proably should have won by more so many positives from both teams prospectives.

NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE ENEMY !!!!!

The question was who wins the ball. Not who carries it.
McVeigh, Rioli, Stanton, Dyson, Murphy, Alvey will carry it.

Solomon is a defender and Hird is a forward. They both play in the midfield because your desperate.

Essendon is in some serious trouble.

Hird was played as a CHF early in his career because we were desperate.
Solomon was recruited as a midfielder.

It happened when he got the free kick for the push from behind. Copped an accidental knee at the same time.

Nathen Brown was considered one of the elite players in the comp before he left the bulldogs.Zantuck wasnt and thats the difference

According to Local, I was unable to rate Zantuck as he hadn't played a game for Essendon yet.

Now whether it's Nathan Brown, Blake Caracella or Ty Zantuck, you can form an opinion on where they sit at their new club.

I never said Zantuck was a superstar. All I said was that he added depth to our list and regardless of his shortcomings, there is no doubt about that. Zantuck may well make his way into our best 22 by season's end, but right now on what Zantuck has shown at AFL level he is a better option for us than the likes of Henneman and Hunt and therefore would have played on Sunday if fit.

Has he been knocked out early in all his games he has played? Or do they have other excuses for his pathetic efforts

Watson is a total dud

Have you watched all the games he'a played?

Ha ha ha some people watch the game without watching it. As soon as it happened i could see it was a corky and i even said to my girlfriend how stupid Michael Christian was to think that it was a hammy. Rama is not stupid to take the next kick and also run along the sideline if he ahd done his hammy.

You make no sense.

Having more players on your list does not mean you have better depth as its all about quality mate. Outside of Essendon's best 23-25 players you really have bugger all.

My mis-guided young fellow up above me!

Nothing wrong with our depth as a collective group. Unlike most people, Sunday wasn't the best real guide as to what the depth is like. If this were June, and both the Dons and Bendigo were in the bottom 4 in both competitions (AFL and VFL), then there might be an actual argument.

There isn't any yet.

Oh..just make sure you switch hands when you whack off...most of you can't cope with popped blisters.

Daicos, Millaine & Brown are the worst players I have ever seen in my life :D

1993 - A very weak year that. Ess beat a young Carlton side.
Hahaha. 'Let's put Athorn on Long'... You're not very bright are you...

Nth was on top for most of the year under new coach Pagan but was bundled out in a final due to inexperience.
Too bad Norf didn't finish ontop. Maybe if Kernahan had kicked the ball somewhere near the posts you guys would have ended up ontop... Hahaha...
